23.01.2022 Well here we are in March. We have had about 16mls of rain and a few showers before that. The poor old garden has been parched over the summer, but now is showing a tinge of green. The cherry tomatoes are ripe, we are losing the struggle to keep the birds out of the grapes, and our dogs like them as much as we do. Some leaves are starting to fall, the mornings are cool and the grass is dewey and soon I will have to get the mower out again. Autumn is here and if we are lucky the autumn break may have started. We have enjoyed our guests over the summer and look forward to seeing more through the autumn and into winter. We are only a phone call away if you need a bit of time out

22.01.2022 Great excitement with the announcement that bookings have opened at Dan Hunters Brae Restaurant in Birregurra from 8 December 2013 see www.braerestaurant.com

22.01.2022 The hay is rolled, the first 40 degree day is with us and the Christmas tree is sparkling. Where did Christmas come from so out of the blue? Wherever it came from we wish you a safe and joyful Christmas and all the best for the New Year.

19.01.2022 Family have been and gone, what a joyful Christmas. Guests are back and nothing available until the new year. Pier to Pub at Lorne coming up on 11th January, we still have some vacancies. Brae restaurant is really hitting it off from the excellent feedback we have had from guests who have experienced Dan Hunter's amazing menu. Why not book in to try it together with an Elliminook stay?

19.01.2022 Come and join us in celebrating Elliminook's 150th year!

17.01.2022 This is not a scene from The Birds, but is in the Elliminook garden, you can probably hear the Corellas where you are!!

17.01.2022 We survived the January heat by retreating to the aircon inside. The garden suffered in spite of the water we poured on to it.The heroes in the garden were the nectarines, all netted up to discourage the birds. We have picked and bottled lots of the flavoursome fruit ready for you to enjoy at breakfast. The warm weather has made the al fresco breakfasts very popular. The tennis players have batted away with much fun and laughter on the court. Why not come away for Easter for a nice bit of time out, tennis, Lorne, Brae restaurant and much much more!!

16.01.2022 Elliminook is delighted but not surprised to hear that Brae Restaurant has cracked the top 100 in the world being ranked 87. Our sincerest congratulations to Dan Hunter and his team on this amazing effort in such a short space of time. We have no doubt he will soon be snapping at the heels of the leaders and into the ranks of the top 50. Go Brae!!! On the home front we were excited by Trip Advisor awarding us a 2015 Award of Excellence so hope we are getting something right!!... Winter is nearly here and we have firewood ready for the open fires. Have a break and come down for a stay. We have starting planning for Elliminook's 150th birthday celebration on Sunday 8 November 2015. We are opening the garden, having Warren Joel doing antique valuations, stalls, music , food and drinks. We are donating all money raised to the Birregurra Recreation Reserve building appeal. The more the merrier and we hope you can come. Put the date in your diary now!! See more

15.01.2022 The Great Victorian Bike Ride arrived in Birregurra with 5000 sweaty bikers with Lycra and bottom pads! They filled all local accommodation including 10 lucky ones who made it to the peace and tranquility of Elliminook where they cleaned up and relaxed after their long ride for the day, most of the other riders were in tents at the Birregurra Recreation Reserve all set up with caterers, toilets etc. It is hard to imagine the number of bikes in town. After breakfast they were all gone and a little later the entourage had left the town, qiute amazing logistics.

08.01.2022 Summer fruits are here! We are fighting the birds for the mulberries which are slowly ripening. Loquats and some apricots are finished but we have been enjoying the raspberries, blueberries and the few cherries that came. Summer must arrive soon and the beautiful Lorne shops and beaches are only a short drive away. Thanks to all our holiday guests for coming to stay. We now have rooms available again and invite you to be our welcome guest.

07.01.2022 So we have now been to Brae with our daughter Emilie and her husband Dan. What an experience, what can we say but WOW, and agree with The Australian reviewer who states "Brae, in Birregurra, is the new national benchmark". Our sincerest congratulations to Dan Hunter and his team at Brae for this amazing restaurant. How lucky we are at Birregurra to have such a gem nearby. Enjoy sharing a special treat at Brae and night at Elliminook with an al fresco breakfast with home grown preserved fruit (weather permitting) on the wide front verandah over looking the Paul Bocuse roses and front garden

01.01.2022 This was the scene at the Birregurra Recreation reserve for the Great Victorian Bike ride. Lucky people who stayed in the warm and comfy rooms and beds at Elliminook before heading off after a big Elliminook breakfast to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road!!
