15.01.2022 Next up our gorgeous Abbie After over 3 years of working with kids going between working at a school, managing a holiday program, becoming a Youth Worker and Nannying I found myself confused where my next career path was going to be! When Carly posted she was looking for a receptionist I jumped at the opportunity. I had actually watched this salon evolve from the very beginning as my sister Ashlee was Carly’s first employee. Already knowing Carly and the girls made it ...so easy to slip right in and feel like it was where I was meant to be! My role is receptionist but you will quite often see me running around the salon helping the girls where I can OR chewing a clients ear off as I love a chat! Pre covid I was completing a lash extension course in the hopes to have a side business when not working in the salon. 11.01.2022 Next up Sarah Before hairdressing I studied to become a make up artist and through that training is what sparked my love for hair. During my make up course i started as a salon assistant and moved to two other salons before finally landing at Elliott Steele. During that time I was (for a better word) extremely persistent trying to get a job for Carly! I came into Elliott Steele having quite a bit of knowledge about hair because of working in a few salons, my make up cours...e and my mum being a hair dresser which really helped get me to where I am today! I started at tradeschool and 15 months later I was finished, during that time I constantly used to use my twin sister as a guinea pig for foils and haircuts and had a lot of models come into the salon so I could practice on them and constantly practicing on each other at work to get my technique and speed up. I am now a 3rd year apprentice and have quite a few of my regular clients who have always been so confident and trusting in my abilities and for that I am so thankful because I know without them I wouldn’t feel/be as successful in such a short period of time A huge passion of mine, which continues to grow every single day is education. Being part of such a big team gives me a great opportunity to help develop my fellow apprentices and help them become the best they can be within my knowledge, as well as educating our lovely clients on what is best for them and why based on all their individual needs! I love watching how people grow and turn on as they become more knowledgeable in areas they once weren’t! When I’m not at work, being with my family is my number 1 priority, including our 2 dogs. We’re an extremely close family of 5 (living at home) that spend a lot of time together. My twin sister and I are practically joined at the hip and are together 24/7 (if our boyfriends aren’t around) but mostly we’ve been so lucky to have my grandmother move in with us this year so we can all spend some quality time with her whilst taking care of her! All in all I feel very lucky to be living a life I absolutely love at 21 and working along side some of the best and most encouraging women I’ll ever meet! See more
