25.01.2022 Yes, yes, yes. If you’re sitting on the fence about trying clinical Pilates read on! If you’re a regular, read on to remind yourself how good a job you’re doing looking after your body!!

25.01.2022 Just confirming that the change in schedule for Wednesday afternoon/evening will commence as from next week. Thanks Danielle

25.01.2022 Even if your having a great day I think remembering these makes it even more beautiful.

25.01.2022 Just needs a lick of paint and we’re all set to go at our new Elderslie Studio!! Cant wait to see you all soon! Holiday sessions (casual) start back on 11th Jan- just text for a booking time each week. Regular term sessions commence on Saturday 30th a January (5 or 10 session packages)

23.01.2022 A reminder that Pilates is not on this week. See everyone starting Saturday 25/7 A reminder that Pilates is not on this week. See everyone starting Saturday 25/7

23.01.2022 With the announcement dates of pilates studios and gyms being allowed to open in more states it has us hopeful that NSW will be following suit very soon . I am beyond frustrated. We are insured and practice under the banner of Allied health but in this we are lumped in with Gyms . Especially being a semi-private studio and plenty of room. The hygiene and client protection on reopening will include the request to bring your own mat to your session everything else is eas...ily and quickly disinfected. Our health and hygiene protocols have always been in place and will continue to be in place when we re-open. As per usual the equipment will be sanitised after each use and hand sanitiser provided in the counter and the small equipment stand. The 5 minute window of time at the end of each session allows for cleaning and wiping down surfaces. Nothing has changed so Im uncertain as to why beauticians can re-open along with bars and other indoor group gathering where people touch surfaces regularly and we cant. Im sure it will be very soon . I will keep you updated as everything progresses and in the meantime practise my deep and calming breathing! See more

23.01.2022 Pilates along with swimming and a cryotherapy chamber (okay, I definitely can’t help you with the last one- but Pilates, I’m your gal!). And that jump, he’s seriously jumping as high as his competitors head height!!! What an amazing athlete!

22.01.2022 Its always harder than it looks boys!

22.01.2022 This is the amazing Caroline, a grandmother of 11!! Shes been working on increasing balance and core stability/strength and keeping her flexibility. Shes smashing the goals!

20.01.2022 I love working with all my amazing clients. Thank you for filling my days with purpose.

20.01.2022 For anyone who needs a Monday morning reminder.

19.01.2022 Just a reminder that there are no sessions running this week due to school holidays.

19.01.2022 Due to illness there will be no Pilates on tonight. Wednesday 11/9/19.

19.01.2022 Just a reminder that sessions resume on Tuesday this coming week!!!

19.01.2022 St Clare’s (the primary school next to our centre) is having its annual fair tomorrow. Please allow a little extra time to find parking and get to the studio. They’re not meant to park in our centre parking area but often do. See you all in the morning!

18.01.2022 Forgot something in my car... BRB...

18.01.2022 It could be a thing?! When you take a look at the video it would be a challenge not to spill a drop!! Whos in?

18.01.2022 A reminder that Saturday sessions wont be on due to the pollution and evacuations.

18.01.2022 A visual of why breath is an integral part of how we move seen from all angles. Functional breathing and rib movement is so important. https://www.facebook.com/521959521287793/posts/1694077707409296/?vh=e

17.01.2022 I love reading stories about how Clinical Pilates has helped people get their life back. It may not be surfing- it can be as simple as running around after your kids pain free or doing the gardening and feeling strong and fierce. Its the part of my job I love most. When you tell me how your daily life has improved with Pilates!!! NB: Clinical Pilates (which is what we do at Ellipsis) focus on the individuals needs not a group exercise class where its very generalised.

17.01.2022 Another important reason to commence each session connecting with our breath and our breath to our movement.

16.01.2022 I’ve shared this before but it’s a brilliant visual.

16.01.2022 Just a reminder that during the school holiday period (October 1-14) the studio is not open for regular sessions. Enjoy your break and try to remember to do some gentle stretching at home!

16.01.2022 Some lovely use of Pilates footage being used to relieve pain! It’s the best thing I ever did to help myself out of pain and moving freely.

16.01.2022 Breath is the first thing taught and the foundation of Pilates. During the last flu pandemic Joseph Pilates designed his fitness method to help those who were interned in a camp. Nobody in the camp died from the flu. True it was isolated on an island but not enough can be said for good use of breath for our health. And especially during times when lung health is in our minds all the time. Springs were also used from the bed to rehabilitate those with physical injuries unable to get out of of their beds. Thats why you now see spring loaded resistance based equipment (beds and chairs) in a Pilates studio! So theres a little bit of background on Pilates and what really goes on during a tailored semi-private session.

16.01.2022 Just a note for anyone planning on make-up sessions tonight. No sessions are running tonight. All regular participants have been notified by sms. Thanks! D

16.01.2022 Functional squats are so great (for those without constraints) for a healthy back and body. This is a good visual.

15.01.2022 Ive shared this before but its a brilliant visual.

15.01.2022 It’s always harder than it looks boys!

14.01.2022 That’s a wrap for 2019! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year. See you back in the studio in January to work off the Christmas pudding and we’ll have you looking and feeling better than Santa! *If you’re curious about Fashion Santa, he can be found at Fashion Santa Model or Paul DN Mason on Facebook.

14.01.2022 Just saw this footage of Joseph Pilates using his original bed. He’s quite violent with his stretches though (don’t worry we don’t stretch like this at the studio, stretches are much more gentle nowadays) . It shows how his original idea was to use the spring beds they had in those days to rehab injuries for returned servicemen.

14.01.2022 We have a date! JUNE 13!!! I’m so excited to see you all back in the studio. If you’d like to start up or look at available times, give me a call: 0405 733 966

14.01.2022 Ive messaged everyone with regular Saturday session however I just wanted to confirm that Pilates has been cancelled for today.

13.01.2022 Not necessarily a Pilates post but a good reminder for everything we do big and small

13.01.2022 Just a reminder that Pilates sessions aren’t on tomorrow. Saturday, 21st September.

13.01.2022 I’ve been quiet the last number of weeks and have been feeling the stress. Here is a nice video with some lovely movements to help release the stress from your body and mind. I can’t wait until our studio sessions can be held again. Until then I hope this little video from Jessica Valant helps. If you find your neck straining during any exercises just release your head back onto the floor or a pillow. Those of you with knee issues should modify the hip stretch figure of 8 to a seated position on a chair, elongate the position with a towel (or theraband) looped over or eliminate it. Feel free to email or PM me with any other modifications for any other home practice that you might come across.

12.01.2022 My favourite feedback from clients is when they notice a change in living their lives outside the Pilates studio.

12.01.2022 Pilates along with swimming and a cryotherapy chamber (okay, I definitely cant help you with the last one- but Pilates, Im your gal!). And that jump, hes seriously jumping as high as his competitors head height!!! What an amazing athlete!

11.01.2022 In side lying arm work!

10.01.2022 As from tomorrow all non-essential services will be suspended due to the Corona virus. It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement: With many gyms and fitness centres closed I was hoping to continue to provide a safe place for you to maintain your health, wellbeing, fitness and rehabilitation and to continue your Pilates sessions during these unprecedented, difficult times. Unfortunately this is no longer possible.... I urge you all stay physically active and maintain a healthy lifestyle eating nutritious food and filling your mind with positivity and hope. During this period I will be running free mat and small apparatus sessions via Zoom (download via your App Store) for all registered clients. Your regular studio sessions will be put on hold. I am setting the online platform up at present and will notify you how you can access these later this week. My aim is for us to stay connected and find a time for mindful movement to help ease the stress and keep us moving. Which is so important for our bodies and minds. Because all of you have individual programs it isnt viable to teach you at your regular time slots as a semi-private group because you are all on different programs with differing needs. At this stage I am hoping to set up a zoom meeting for a few different levels with small groups of similar requirement and make modifications to exercises as required. I envisage each session to run live with correction and feedback as necessary and I am hoping to record these so they are available after the live session for you to repeat or catch up on if you miss the session time. If you have any friends who you feel would benefit from sessions during this time please pass on the free class details. I would like to think that anybody struggling at home during this time can reach out and join us to find something positive to focus on for part of their day. All they will need to do is register for the sessions. If you are a clinical client I am available for one to one private sessions however there will be limited availability and there would be a charge for these consultations. I will keep you updated as to when sessions return.... and they will return! Hopefully sooner rather than later. Until then we will do our part to flatten the curve.

09.01.2022 Just a reminder that there will be no make-up sessions for today only.

08.01.2022 Awareness, recovery, versatility, injury prevention, cross training, mobility and flexibility what athlete doesnt need that. Which must be why so many athletes and sports clubs have Pilates trainers now days!

07.01.2022 I’d just add at the end- Man, I feel amazing

07.01.2022 If anyone has booked make-up session for this afternoon/this evening can you please contact me directly before your session time. Danielle

07.01.2022 A lovely article from Vogue.

06.01.2022 One of my favourite abdominal and full body exercises. I’m nursing a clavicle issue at the moment and I love that there are so many exercises to choose from in Pilates that don’t aggravate a given injury.

06.01.2022 A quick reminder that there are no sessions running today. Have a relaxing weekend! See you next weekA quick reminder that there are no sessions running today. Have a relaxing weekend! See you next week

06.01.2022 For my hypermobile and EDS clients. This is a reputable instructor who is offering her course for FREE this month. If you sign up and find you need more modifications or want feed back contact me and I can help. The Pilates community of teachers worldwide is coming together in a beautiful way right now. This wont be as personalised as some of you need or have the resistance of the equipment at the studio but it will help keep you on track until we can get you back in the studio working to your bodys needs and your goals. Check it out and see what you think!

05.01.2022 An article to hopefully help a little bit. Our power comes with understanding and changing our expectations.

05.01.2022 Do your Pilates for strength training and core stability and to keep you active.

05.01.2022 Catherine stretching with control and beautiful line at the end of a tough session.

05.01.2022 Core, control, co-ordination. It’s taken me consistent work to slowly and patiently rebuild my stomach and the connections but I’m finally feeling it all coming together. A Pain free back and feeling stronger every day.

01.01.2022 As someone who lives with anxiety I definitely notice how different my emotional and mental responses as well as my physical well-being is if I miss a few sessions of my own Pilates practise. The hour of respite with mindful movement feels like cool water on a hot day.
