25.01.2022 It’s shaping up to be a cracker of a long weekend with the weather gods in our favour. It is anticipated there will be a lot of visitors to our District. A few ...things to remember to make the holiday break great for all. Please take care and patience on the road. Many people will be out to enjoy our beautiful beaches and our special areas. Please drive at a slow speed past people and parked cars on the beaches and camping areas as kids and family dogs can be unpredictable and not visible from the other side of a car or van. Please take all your rubbish with you! Littering is not cool! Our sand dunes are great fun but the vegetation is extremely fragile. Please stay out of the bushes and coastal grasses. There is plenty of sand to drive on! Our vegetation is important to many critters, so burning it for camp fires takes away natural habitat. The fire season is not over so please follow the CFS regulations. Find out more www.cfs.gov/events-and-publications/fact-sheets/ - Restrictions What can I/can’t I do But the most important message, please enjoy yourselves we appreciate every one’s cooperation to help keep our area beautiful 79 series See more

25.01.2022 Pretty in pink might be the theme for the day as the sun rises over a stunning forecast for Eyre Peninsula. Did you get a pic? The winds will pick up through th...e day, but the temperature will be just glorious. Enjoy it as it might be the last real warm day we have in a while. Thank you Sharon Baldock for sharing your sunrise shot with us.

19.01.2022 Shameless plug for a hometown freak. Ive got a mate who can paint a bit and has done so, at a high level, for a long time. Im proud to have a couple of his pa...intings in my house. And routinely have travelled my Joshy Willo ways continually leaning on his expertise. All my merch art is his doing. My most recent album cover art... and hopefully my next album cover art. I began talks and sharing of ideas with him about 2-3 years ago about my next secret album cover because thats roughly the required timeline. Thats fine. Its how we roll out here. To put things in perspective my next album will have taken me 6-7 years to complete. He can kick a football a bit too. Won a couple premierships along side him and I managed to wrestle an A-grade BNF out of his grasp one year too. (Took a 3 player draw to do it) hes won too many anyway... and for a heavy built Russian, he surfs like hes on a skateboard... so the blokes got some skillz. Some of his work is currently part of an exhibition at @art_images_gallery on Norwood Parade, Adelaide. As part of @salafestival . Go check it out if youre in the big smoke. ... Actually I forgot to mention he was part of the most famous punk band to come out of Eyre Peninsula too. 15.01.2022 As Sean Humby has mentioned, the classic 1997 Mid West Grand Final at Piednippie was hugely controversial. For the record, the goal umpire didnt see the ball and, despite feeling that it was most likely a goal, deferred to the field umpire. The rest is history.

You current Elliston historians may be able to shed some further light on it It would be nice to see a clearer version if anyone has one Edit: please scroll down to the bottom of the comments to see the photo as it should be, a bit of to and fro with Nigel May last night revealed that the photo was actually taken at the location of the new jetty, in fact a mirror image of the version I posted
