11.01.2022 The Ellrott front mounted blade plough was invented in 1982 by father and son Fred and Frank Ellrott because of the need to efficiently control regrowth and woody weeds on their properties near Rockhampton. This front mounted blade plough allows the bulldozer to push the plough, which is what bulldozers are designed to do. Because tractor and plough operate as one unit there is incredible manoeuvrability and control. Over the years this machine has dealt with woody weeds al...l over Queensland. Mesquite at Quilpie and McKinlay. Chinee Apple at Inkerman, Charters Towers and the Cape and Burdekin Rivers. Prickly Acacia at Collinsville, Home Hill, Winton, along the McKenzie River as well as the Fitzroy delta. Rubbervine at Collinsville. Parkinsonia on the McKenzie and Cape Rivers and the Rockhampton area. Excellent for penetrating hardpan, stopping runoff and allowing the pasture to capture any rainfall. A seeder on the back of the bulldozer can effectively drop seed on the ploughed ground to outcompete any weed seedlings that may emerge. Because it has excellent manoeuvrability only target weed species are affected, so ploughing treed areas and on the contour reducing runoff, is possible. This method has proven to be the most efficient, economically and ecologically viable way to selectively deal with woody weeds while spreading pasture seed and capturing rainfall reducing runoff. We are currently contracting with the plough on D4 and D6 bulldozers. For contracting rates please phone Alison on 0409574180 See more
