23.01.2022 My little boy is sick and last night we had to give him medicine that knocks his immune system down. So I’ve whipped up a super quick probiotic yoghurt. I’ll give him a bit every day just to look after his gut, and hopefully build his immune system up. Last night we had pumpkin soup with bone broth which will help him too. Bone broth may help open up the sinuses and may help reduce the mucus in the lungs.

14.01.2022 Did you know we breathe anywhere between 20-30 thousand breaths in just one day!! Being aware of your breathing is an excellent way to calm your mind and body in a stressful situation. The biggest thing we have to do is draw our attention to our breath to make us feel better because we all breath we just never give it a second thought.... I had to be taught to breath more efficiently in a stressful state. Especially when training in CrossFit. Breathing in efficiently and softly is called conscious breathing. Conscious breathing is a way of getting more air into your lungs and not stressing the body. Conscious breathing works wonders too if you are dealing with cranky kids

11.01.2022 This is what my dad has said about me changing his world through food and exercise. My brother and I wanted him to stay in this world for as long as his body c...ould we could see him getting sicker and the next step for him was to start getting insulin shots. So we had an intervention Having had Diabetes 2 for over 20 years, being overweight for most of that time & just about giving up on diets & exercise There reached a point where my daughter and son organized an ‘intervention’... Honestly, their intervention didn’t work... what would they know... they were just my kids! Anyway, after a month or two of persistence Ellysia broke through... Ellysia lined up an appointment for me, with her integrative doctor & my world changed. I learnt more about my condition with this doctor than all the previous doctors & specialists over the previous 20 years. My intake of carbohydrates, sugar, alcohol, & sweets would have to STOP! This was huge for me because this is the only world I knew. I had eaten like this for as long as I could remember and almost everyone around me was the same... we ate for taste and enjoyment... our health was a lottery or predetermined... genetic... or so I thought... Also, With the doctor's recommendations and supervision, there would be a change to my diabetes medication, & my heart medications... some would be replaced with vitamins & other necessary compounds that I had no idea my body was lacking. The biggest problem I envisioned was, how would my diet change?? Diets were those things you follow, fail, become disheartened and end up in a downward spiral physically and mentally... This is where Ellysia entered my predicament; Ellysia and her family have been living the keto way for some years, & her family are very healthy in looks as well of mind. On the doctor's suggestion, I went on a 4 day fast, keeping myself going on just chicken bone broth, after the first 4 days I only had 1 meal of chicken thighs in the evening but kept up the broth in the mornings, Although the direction from the doctor was clear, the execution at home was the thing where I needed daily support ... I knew the components of the food I needed to avoid and include, however, what foods contained and how to include these in meals still confused me... I was determined (after being stubborn for too long) to make this life change for myself, my friends and my family... Friends around me were failing in health and honestly, I was waiting for my turn... however... how can I help them all if I am also sick... Being a Navy veteran I know what working hard is. I know the stress and I know sacrifice... maybe I had also sacrificed my health for too long... maybe, at this choice point I kept this up for another week. My body reacted badly for another 3 weeks (keto flu), but the weight was falling off me. With a diet of protein (steak, chicken, lamb, mince & fish) & lots of green vegetables my hunger was satisfied. I also learnt that the main diabetes meds I was on was leaching the Vitamin B12 out of me, & I needed 4 shots in the arm to counteract the deficiency, what a miraculous vitamin, I was jumping out of my skin & was back at the gym. After the initial results of a weight drop of 8kg, I was amazed... Although weight is not everything, this has never happened to me before in my life... With Ellysia keeping her eye on what I ate, & with her suggestions on how to stay in ketosis my life has turned around. This whole food for nutrition was new to me... packet food, fast food, processed food, lollies were my staple for all my life... However, with Ellysias help, the meals were simple for me to cook, tasty and meeting the doctor's requirements! After 8 weeks I can honestly say I am a new person... With regards to weight, I have dropped I have lost a total of 10 kgs My waist has dropped 2 inches Day to day movement have changed completely... I feel free for the first time in my life... I am back at the gym and on the rower and to my surprise my previous shoulder injury is now pain-free... Things I had associated with how I thought things were meant to unfold... a slow decline of life and lifestyle for the rest of my life... Medicine wise under the guidance of the doctor So far I have dropped 2 of the 3 diabetes meds I was on, I have also dropped 1 of my blood pressure meds because my blood pressure has dropped to normal levels. I no longer take lipid medication, as well as not having to take indigestion tablets. My sugar readings have dropped being in the 12’s to mid 5’s to 6. My previous doctors are amazed and encouraging me to continue doing whatever I am doing... we can’t argue with the data and results... I would recommend Ellysia’s food & exercise program for everybody. I am 72 & can now look forward to being around to see my grandchildren’s weddings. I always thought of my daughter as my little girl... now I can think of her the person who has given me a new life... Thank you Ellysia. 09.01.2022 Smiling while doing something hard or difficult is something I was taught from an amazing soul and a super human. Stig Severinsen has so many amazing achievements and I really felt as though everyone needs to know him and his work. Just as an introduction to Stig, he is a 4 times world record holder for freediving. He wrote a book,The art of conscious breathing. Has the world record for a 22 minute breathold under water. ... Stig is a friend of Michael’s and as a family we have been lucky enough that he has stayed with us in our home. I have learnt so much from Stig and smiling while doing something challenging is just the start of it. In this ted talk you will learn more about Stig and what breathing has done for him and how it has changed so many lives. It’s such an interesting ted talk and yes it goes for a bit but listen to it in the car or with headphones while cleaning or cooking.
