25.01.2022 ? Well are you? The equestrian industry is harsh, we all know that. Its the land for the know it alls, for the judgmental and negative... prone people. But on the flip side its the safe haven for the selfless, caring and loving individuals. But have you ever asked yourself am I a real equestrian? If you have, please listen... What is the ideal equestrian like? What makes you more accomplished than others? I find if your just a happy hacker it isnt cutting it, its not enough and that is what the equestrian world tells us. If your not out competing every weekend and bringing home those red rosettes, then who are you? Whats the point? Right? WRONG. I remember a wise lady telling me, I dont need a strange man in a bowl hat to tell me my horse is amazing. I laughed and quietly nodded, everything she said was so true. And then I started thinking about feeling accomplished and feeling like you and your horse are successful. Then I started thinking about why I need to do shows or dressage tests to feel this way. The reality is we dont. I know some incredible riders, ones thatll happily do eventing. Or jump the most highest heights, but wont hack out. I know some fantastic riders who hack out alone for hours on end, but wouldnt dream of doing a cross country course. So does it really matter if your out competing every weekend or whether you spend your weekends going on fun rides and hacking... No it doesnt! It really doesnt matter! Were all accomplished in our own ways, were all incredible equestrians in our own ways and our horses are all amazing in their own ways. So, if your the horse person who is constantly worrying about the outcome of your dressage test or whether you think your not doing enough or if your the person who thinks your wasting your horse because you dont have time to ride him, please realise your doing fine. It doesnt matter what your doing as long as your doing good and trying. The ultimate goal is to have a best friend. That is all...
