23.01.2022 Over the past days we have received the wonderful news that Di’s Windermere range is going to be reprinted. A huge thanks to the Aussie Andover distributors, @2greenzebras who have put a lot of work into ensuring this happens. Just to let you know, I will be offering the Windermere Quilt as a block of the month program, as well as the option to purchase a kit. I will also be offering the opportunity for people who previously purchased the recommended fabric, the chance to to...p up on some of the fabric that is used more than the suggested amounts. For example the main floral actually uses 2.7m if you wish to make an exact replica, slightly above the 1.5m Di suggested on her initial estimate. Fabric orders are now open, with the fabric expected to arrive in July. If you wish to partake in the block of the month, purchase a kit, or top up with fabric, I am now taking orders. If you do not have email and need to phone, could you please do so during my work days, if I can’t take your call I will ring you back. 17.01.2022 I’ve been rather occupied of late, and I do apologise if I have been late answering emails and returning calls. I have been asked by Di Ford Hall’s family to help on a special project. Di’s daughter Nicci has posted about this project today. If you could please share Nicci’s post around the quilting community, it would be fabulous. Di’s family want everyone to know that the Windermere pattern is coming, and it will be presented in a special booklet. I must say the quilt which Di’s friends have completed for her, and which Helen Hayes has quilted is absolutely stunning and I feel very honoured to be involved. I’m sure you are all going to love what is coming.

14.01.2022 This is Block 4 of the Morrell Quilt by Di Ford Hall. Each February in my appliqué group we set a challenge of what we would like to complete by the end of the year. For the last couple of years, my challenge has been the Morrell Quilt. I’m a little ashamed to say it, but I have very few blocks to show. My appliqué ladies will be chuckling at this, as it’s become a group joke. Our appliqué group has not met since March, but with COVID restrictions here in Victoria gradually l...ifting, I’m hoping we can resume our meetings early next year. I’m determined to have some show and tell for the next time we meet, so each Sunday I am trying to make one block. I made this block when I first started the quilt, but a roughly made template resulted in the star being too big to fit on the block. Last night I pulled it apart, remade the template and sewed it back together. It now fits perfectly within the the block. 02.01.2022 Fabric arrivals have been non existent of late, and I’ve been kept busy with all things Windermere, so there really hasn’t been a lot to share. We had a lovely night at my son’s girlfriend’s 21st last weekend, where I took this photo of my kids. Having 5 kids under the age of 7 (no twins either) certainly made life busy, but I look at them now and wonder where the time has gone. We love that they are so close and get along so well.
