24.01.2022 Getting Em broke

23.01.2022 This week marks 12 months since my last concussion, Orbost show last year I had a very minor ‘slip’ off a horse with my saddle. After riding all day and doing all the usual jobs that night, the next morning I woke up knowing it was my one hit too many to the head. A week in hospital, countless doctors appointments later I knew I was in for a longer than I wanted recovery period. Guided by A top Neuro professor I began Neuro rehab, the beginnings of healing all the other ache...s and pains that go with 23 years of riding lots of different horses (some good and some not so good)! I was told no driving (AT ALL), and to be patient. I went home thought F*^% that I’ll nail this - did the first 3 minutes of rehab exercises and fell off my chair - and crying on my lounge room floor looking at the ceiling not being able to stand back up cause from horizontal to standing seemed impossible I realised that concussion doesn’t care what your plans are - it takes time & patience. With the help of Mum, Glen & Kate at the frontlines of containing & hearing my frustration, heartbreak & hurt I not only survived but thrived in ways I didn’t think was going to be part of my lifetime EVER! So here I am, slower than I used to be, kinder, the owner of a miniature goat herd & a truckload more patient after my first proper day back in action. I feel FANTASTIC to be back.

21.01.2022 Chekka had a fun afternoon at the dairy getting the cows in - the cows thought he was a pretty exciting addition to their daily routine and had a blast as we first walked into the paddock - he was a superstar, I would have understood if he wanted to peel out and leave with 160 of the +200 cows chasing him but he wasn’t fazed by anything. Maize trucks, tractors and regular traffic he then stood and waited patiently until I finished up & unloaded in the dark back home. He is really becoming a ripper little horse!

05.01.2022 To say our horses get a good dose of life experience is sometimes an understatement! Henry got the cows in this morning in the dark & fog with a head lamp and dog Glen & I then milked, fed and scooted back to Briag to go to a navigation ride hosted by Briagolong PC. Henry, Chekka & Freebie (ridden by Kate Pemberton) attended and all got gold stars for perfect behaviour! Pretty happy with our 4th place We then scooted back to Cowwar to milk & feed again. Glen has taken quite a liking to Henry & he is pretty much the perfect boyfriend horse! Doing walk to canter transitions, heading to lead & waiting behind with no worries! Both Henry & Chekka moved electric fence breaks pulling down and putting back up. ~ Living the Dream ~

03.01.2022 Henry is a 16.1hh 17 year old TB Bay Gelding. Henry is a darling horse that will be a confidence booster to get you back in the saddle and out and about competing/trail riding/attending lessons. With established foundations, simple changes, lengthened trot & leg yielding he is a schoolmaster type that will do as much as you ask of him. He has been turned out for some time so is under muscled but ready to build up a beautiful top line and get back out and about! Good to truck... & angle float (okay to load into a straight load but does take a moment to figure out the standing straight not on an angle caper) great to shoe & rug. Henry is forward moving so is suitable for confident intermediate riders & up. NO BEGINNERS Has been lead off 4wheeler, ridden bareback in a halter, and runs in a herd of geldings with no worries. $3000 Call Esther on 0409378427 Located Briagolong See more

01.01.2022 Just another day in the life of a horse trainer/farm hand/tractor driver! Chekka has been getting the full experience of busy farm life, big trucks tractors and silage bins cows unloading/loading in daylight & dark horses galloping around and not being bothered walking up on the dairy yard the problem with them getting so nice to ride is having to move them on...
