11.01.2022 Composting for physical improvements Physical Replenishing soils with compost not only adds valuable organic matter to your system but also adds to the stock of soil carbon. Organic matter contains organic carbon which plays a central and fundamental role in soil quality and fertility. The organic matter acts as the ‘glue’ to bind soil particles into aggregates thus improving soil structure, infiltration, air porosity, water and nutrient holding capacity. In most cropping sys...tems, carbon is taken off the farm through grain harvesting, stubble fed to stock or cutting of hay. Soil quality and fertility reduces over time as carbon is being continually removed from the farm and not replaced. Applying compost replenishes the soil organic matter and helps to sustain soil quality and fertility and maximise production over time. Elmore Compost & Organics have perfected a high quality, nutrient dense organic fertiliser that can be delivered and spread for you, anywhere in Victoria. Our minimum recommendation for broad acre use is 4 tonnes per hectare. Enquire at [email protected] or call 0428 511 525 for a quote. Orders placed before Friday 11 January will receive 15% off the per tonne price for your first order. #soil #soilhealth #organiccompost #fertiliser #broadacre #crops #wheat #compost #farming #organicfertiliser #aussiefarmers #centralvictoria #futureprooffarming

10.01.2022 Did you know we have case studies on our website explaining the benefits of using compost in viticulture, horticulture, broadacre, vegetable production, landscape and civil works and growing organics? Check them out here https://www.aora.org.au/compost-for-soils/case-studies/

09.01.2022 A study finds increasing soil organic carbon, such as compost, is critical to increasing long-term soil carbon storage.

08.01.2022 The first thing to think about in the morning, BEFORE checking your phone.

02.01.2022 Why Compost? Compost is excellent for small garden applications but is even more valuable for broad acre cropping. Farmers listen up, this is the future of non-synthetic fertilisers, that will save you money in the long run - by improving yields and lowering fertiliser frequency and cost. Compost can improve overall soil health when incorporated into the soil or surface-applied as a soil conditioner. Despite differing in nutrient requirements, crops such as wheat, barley, oat...s, maize, canola, lucerne and sorghum can all benefit from the addition of pasteurised and composted organic materials. Give crops a kick-start and boost soil health. Compost can improve your soil’s physical, biological and chemical properties and positively.
