25.01.2022 The view from the top of our neighbours hill. With the help of Blaze Aid, our very steep boundary fence is being replaced. Great work !

25.01.2022 Elmstead Cottages is open again! Each of our two cottages has their own entrance and private facilities. Booking in advance is preferred so that I have plenty of time to prepare. I'm looking forward to see you again soon!

20.01.2022 Cleaning is so important right now! To keep our guests safe and healthy and to keep us safe and healthy. My secret weapon: A spray-bottle with sterilizing Kangen water, PH2.5.... I wipe every surface, doorknobs, light switches, remotes, taps, etc. And then I do my normal clean. I feel safe using this water and it is so easy! I love my water machine.

15.01.2022 This is what happens when you park your car outside the gate at Arthur's Cottage. I only spent 5 minutes there, but I had to move my car inside the gate when one curious heifer started pulling if my rear windshield wiper . Beware!

11.01.2022 First round of cleaning up Arthur's Cottage has begun. First I had to get rid of a thick layer of soot (with my face mask). Round 2 tomorrow .

11.01.2022 Due to the catastrophic fires in Cudgewa Elmstead Cottages is closed. Just letting everyone know that we are doing ok. No power, internet or phones makes communication difficult. We lost all of our farm, significant stock losses but saved our two houses. Lost all our hay and machinery. Our horses, dogs, chook and cat are OK. We will recover, but it will take time.

10.01.2022 I love running our holiday cottages. And I was very happy with the easing of the Covid-19 restrictions. Since June 1st we have had quite a few guests. It is so nice when they appreciate how special it is here. One of our guests wrote in the guest book: "The spirit of the wrens is strong here " I had never thought about it, but it is true! The little wrens are all around the house and the blue male keeps attacking his image in the window.

01.01.2022 Our resident magpie exhibited some strange behaviour this afternoon. (1st video) Even Molly was curious.I watched her for a while and she kept doing the same thing over and over!?!? When I went to investigate, I found the culprit (2nd video in comments below)
