22.01.2022 Here's a laugh to end the week with. If you like laughing at your own pain, that is :-)

20.01.2022 Whatever your beliefs, many of us share the concept of a higher entity. Be it God, the Universe, etc etc. I've recently reminded myself of a technique that I have taught many people and am now revisiting for myself: the God box. There are lots of things beyond our control and it can be hard to let go of worrying about them. The problem is, worrying about things beyond our control is a precious waste of energy that you could be using to live your joy. ... If you find yourself in that place, make yourself a God box (call it whatever you like!). I've coloured mine in and written some points that are relevant for me right now. You can use a plain box, envelope or any container that is big enough to hold a few pieces of paper. Or, go crazy and get a huge crate and decorate the heck out of it! Whatever the sophistication (or not) of the container, it works like this... 1. Write down the thing that's worrying you. 2. Put it in your box. 3. As you do, say to yourself, 'I hand this problem to God' (or whatever language you want to use here). 4. When you notice yourself worrying about that thing you handed over, open the box and take your 'problem' out. Repeat steps 2 and 3. You will probably have to do this many times, and prepare to be shocked at how often you find yourself worrying! You can put as many problems as you wish into your box. At the end of the week, take the 'problems' out and destroy them. Start again. By the way, make the destroying step something fun! I like to set things on fire, some people take satisfaction from shredding, one person chewed them up and spat them out! It all contributes to the letting go process. Eventually, that 'thing' you couldn't let go of (no matter how many times you sang the Frozen soundtrack), will lose its power over you. I actually came across this technique in a book for recovering addicts. Try it. It works!

18.01.2022 My four year old daughter recently lost three weeks worth of pocket money on this alluring claw machine. And she was devastated. Yes, I could have stopped her from doing it. And, yes, I could have bought her something to make up for the pain. But I didn't. I hugged her and commiserated with her but I didn't try to take her pain away. Risk and failure. Are your kids getting enough?

17.01.2022 And...ready. One emotional clearing session coming up. So grateful to have to have this opportunity. Looking forward to completing my training so that I can offer this service more widely.

16.01.2022 It's all happening folks!!!

16.01.2022 To be honest, I was less than delighted to be presented with this enormous 'hat' that my six year old had created at school. I didn't really like the look of it and was thinking how awkward it would be to store. But he loved it. So we took it home.... And then I realised that this 'hat' is a bit like my relationship with my son. I need to accept him as he is, regardless of how 'conveniently' he fits into my life. I am so grateful that my knowledge of psychological type really helps me to value the 'not like me' bits of my children.

15.01.2022 Well, yes, thank you, I would like more than $500 worth of free essential oils. Excited today to receive my latest order - all free! Loving the Essential Rewards program!

15.01.2022 I've been on the lookout for one of these for ages. A simple way for the kids to know the day, date and month. I snapped it up as a last minute bargain at the school fete. It was only when I put it on the wall that I realised it wasn't even in English! Knowing my psychological type, I know that I'm a big picture person.... When I miss blindingly obvious details like this, I don't give myself a hard time. I have a laugh and remember that it's part of what comes with the gift that is me :-) What's your gift?

13.01.2022 This oil is one of my favourites. One of the side effects of focussing more on your purpose is being less distracted by the trivialities, whatever they might look like for you.

10.01.2022 Please can we go a different way home Mummy? The school run should be as quick and pain free as possible, right? But for my (tending towards a preference for Perceiving) daughter, every journey is a chance for exploration and adventure. People with a Perceiving preference (in the Myers Briggs framework) who get locked in to a rigid way of living can feel as though the very life is draining out of them.... Do you know your preferences?

09.01.2022 Oh the joy, of sharing one of my greatest passions with my beloved son. Worked through his psychological type this afternoon. We use the concepts at home so often that he could accurately pick other family members' types too.

09.01.2022 Nice one Isabel! Love your work.

09.01.2022 Interesting post this week from the people at MMTIC (psychological type for kids). Although I'd be the one to give up the lectures, not my husband. How would it go at your place?... Type for Kids Tip #132: When my children were younger and did something wrong my husband enjoyed the opportunity to give a star lecture on the "right" response. Because at times these moments of advice could last a while we developed a strategy to cut them short. All my kids had to do was say, "What you are trying to tell me is..." If they were right, my husband had to stop lecturing. It was amazing how quickly my children were able to discern the full intent of the conversation and how frustrated my husband would be because he did not get to say everything he planned to say. It became a game. At least we knew the children heard the intended message. Wasn't that the point?

08.01.2022 If there's one thing I love, it's learning. Excited to start a 5 day course on training design and assessment. Arrive early - check. Selection of stationery ready to go - check. Finding Nemo in my CD drive - check. ???

07.01.2022 I see a lot of these 'introvert explanation' posts. But this is the best one yet. Love the hissing.

02.01.2022 I was planning to get up and at em. But there's a slight problem.

02.01.2022 Oooh! First booking is in for my Egyptian Emotional Clearing Guinea Pig sessions (finalising my training). The Eloquent Solutions website hasn't been updated to include a description yet, but here's a bit more information from the people who ran the course I attended in May. The course was INTENSE. Honestly, I will never be the same person again.... Looking forward to offering this technique more widely from early January.

01.01.2022 Wildly excited about starting my Level 2 Executive Coaching training this coming week. Level 1 was life changing in the way it challenged my thinking. I've just started doing the pre-reading and know it's exactly what I need to challenge myself again. Some of what we'll cover in the course is: - deepening the coaching relationship,... - the power of meditation, - managing confronting conversations, - how to move people from victim consciousness to conscious choice. BRING IT! Woohoo!! Life can be pretty amazing sometimes.

01.01.2022 I'm a big fan of 'easy does it' parenting ideas. So was delighted to find this world map shower curtain. It has prompted so many discussions!
