16.01.2022 Potassium is a key element in reef tank chemistry and is fundamental for stony corals. Its concentration should be between 380 and 450 mg/l with an optimum of 4...00 mg/l, the value found in natural sea water. As with many other elements, potassium is used in both coral skeleton and cellular processes, furthermore it is used by the zooxantellae as a fertilizer. Coral colours will become more vibrant when Potassium levels are kept in check. An accurate test is the Elos Expert Series Potassium with up to 120 tests. See more

In roughly two weeks’ time we have Portugese aquascaper, Filipe Oliveira, making the trek half way across the globe to wo...rk his magic on our 2400L, 4 meter long, planted feature tank! Filipe is widely acknowledged in the aquascaping community world over for his keen eye when it comes to scaping, with many awards under his belt and even working with the world-renowned Amano team. Now this is where you can get involved! We’re taking expressions of interest for aquascaping workshops on either (or both) Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of August from 4pm with Filipe. This will be a great opportunity to learn from a leader in his field within the industry and a rare experience for the Australian hobby as a whole. Fee for the workshop is $50 which will include refreshments & canapes, door prizes donated by ABS Technologies, discounts on the night and a wealth of invaluable info! 05.01.2022 It occurs to me that I have not yet introduced the Elos Crystal Line aquariums or the new Elos Ghost drain... The New Crystal Line aquariums are the same high end, ultra clear aquariums you expect from Elos, but now with opaque silicon glue instead of black silicon glue, giving an excellent almost uninterrupted view into the aquatic life that resides within.
