17.01.2022 We had an amazing example of the Boerbeol temperament today with our beautiful girl Zuri. I looked into the backyard and noticed she was missing and then realised she was in the chicken coop! I felt sick thinking that the chooks would all have been killed and started screaming for Paul. But she was just sitting in there watching them and didn’t hurt a single one! Don’t even know how long she was there but she is such a kind and gentle soul. Love these amazing dogs!

11.01.2022 Thanks to the hard work of our awesome neighbour Tim, Paul and our good mate Steve, another big item is ticked off our to do list. We now have 6 amazing, heavy duty dog runs for our Boerboels. They are 5 x the minimum requirement for a large dog.

10.01.2022 Our beautiful Zuri. Patiently waiting for her to go on heat so that we can breed her!

10.01.2022 Goz and I just finished a 4 hour webinar on the Boerbeol. It was amazing to hear from Craig Bloom and Kobus Rust from South Africa and take our knowledge to a whole new level. As new breeders we are passionate about wanting to do everything right and tonight’s focus on the structure of the Boerboel head helped so much. So excited to be on the path to breeding true and correct Boerboels! Thanks Regan Campbell for organising this and we can’t wait for the next one!

08.01.2022 Just a few of our wolf pack. We have our three amazing breeds and we are sticking to that! #EloueraStud #Sarplaninac #Boerboel #SouthAfricanMastiff #Frenchbulldog

07.01.2022 Elouera Stud isn’t just a hobby. It is literally my heart and soul. Every animal I breed, whether it is a horse, goat, dog, cat or rat is loved and is cared for. Yes I love what I do more than anything, but it is also my business and livelihood. I have built this up with blood, sweat, tears and hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last 5 years. My animals are not cheap, but they are of the highest quality and are all bred for their soundness, temperament and to improve ...a breed. For every hour I spend caring for my animals, I spend another hour answering countless messages/emails/calls, advertising, providing ongoing support to anyone who buys an animals for me. I take hundreds of photos, manage 6 Facebook pages, register animals, research what I am breeding, attend courses or webinars, maintain a huge database of every animal I breed. The husbandry side of it involves medical care such as worming/vaccinations, trips to vets, bottle feeding, playing midwife to assist with births, feeding, cleaning, moving animals around, training and handling, sitting up at night with puppies making sure they are all latching on and being fed. Ethics and integrity are everything to me and my business so why would I ever risk my reputation by doing the wrong thing? It really hurts me when very occasionally someone isn’t happy or questions my integrity as a breeder and as a person. I believe I provide an ongoing service that goes above and beyond just selling an animal. I have built a huge network of friendships and likeminded people who I work with and also learn from. Are my animals ever going to be cheap? No. Will they be loved, cared for and bred to the highest of quality and best of my abilities? Yes. Should I be paid for what I do and my time? Yes of course. Nobody goes to work for free and neither do I. Just because I love what I do, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be rewarded for it. When I do make money I usually always invest it all back into my breeding programs and infrastructure anyway. Can I always return every message immediately? No, I just have to jiggle everything as best as I can. The fact that I feel guilty when I don’t have time for my friends or family shows that I still care. When an animals dies I cry and when I can’t save one I beat myself up and always blame myself. I have days where I think I must be crazy to do this but those days are far outweighed every time I witness a birth or cuddle one or my fur babies. I trust that anyone who knows me well, knows that I always try to do the right thing. I am not perfect and I struggle with the fact that my animals won’t always be perfect either but I am trying my best
