25.01.2022 The meaning behind Elova Jewellery 7 years ago I was working full time as a jeweller north of the city. On weekends I would do small jobs for family and friends, from here word of mouth spread and I started having a little stream of work to keep me busy. After a while I decided to make it official and the first step was to come up with a business name. I swear it’s just as hard as picking a name for your child ... My partner an I brainstormed ideas back and forth for weeks and then one morning I said Elova. The E stands for my name, Erin and I had discovered lova while searching for alternatives for my middle name Louise. I also adored the idea that part of the word love is in there too. So not only does it stand for who I am, I feel that the name also encompasses the love that is behind each piece of jewellery that I make See more

25.01.2022 There are so many awesome pieces booked into the workshop at the moment, so thank you so so much to everyone out there thats sharing my work and booking appointments. After having a few years on and off from maternity leave I was really sceptical on if I could make my business still work with a young family, would I even get any work.... There are two main reasons that I really wanted to give it a good shot. One, was that I wanted to work around my two young children... and the second was that I absolutely LOVE hand making jewellery. I didnt want to go work in another workshop where I was away from the kids and having the repetitiveness of cleaning up castings. Over the last year Ive put a lot of work in by setting up my website, connecting with local businesss and upping my social media game. With the addition of all of your support and word of mouth Im so overjoyed to say that my business is thriving. So thank you so much once again, I really love that I get to do what I love whilst still spending time with my little family See more

25.01.2022 I can finally share my excitement with you all that my baby sister and her partner got engaged! A massive congratulations to you both, we are all so happy for you and cant wait to celebrate your special day @ Rockingham, Western Australia

25.01.2022 Earlier this year Elova Jewellery was a part of the amazing event The Rockingham Long table Lunch. An Australian south sea pearl along with a voucher was donated to be a part of the ladies Auction package. It raised $2000 to go to the Variety Childrens Charity. It was an incredible day filled with entertainment and delicious food, if youve ever considered going I highly recommend it. Not only is it a great day but it helps raise money for a great cause. ... Here is the result for the winner of the auction, I hope you enjoy it

25.01.2022 Wow! 7 years ago today I received my trade certificate It was after completing a jewellery course in high school during year 10 that I decided that I wanted to be a jeweller. After graduating, I enrolled in a jewellery object and design course and completed the first year. While studying here I would always go to the other side of the workshop and appreciate all of the work the apprentices were doing. ... The next year I started my 4 year apprenticeship. It definitely wasn’t easy, but over the four years I worked very hard, pushed myself and came out the other side with invaluable skills that have helped me to be where I am today. This year I have been lecturing the current WA apprentices at North Metro Tafe and I’ve been so grateful to be able to pass on my skills and knowledge to the next jewellers to enter the industry. 24.01.2022 One question that I get asked frequently is why are my appointment times are in the afternoons during the week. The reason is because of these two little people I like to hold my appointments after hours so my hubby can take charge of the kids while I give you my 100% focus. ... On that note my available appointment times are Monday - Friday - 4.30pm-7.30pm Saturday- Sunday - 9am-5pm Im able to help you with all custom designs, remodels and repairs. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions at all See more

22.01.2022 How long does it take? Custom makes/ Remodels From the first consultation to having your new piece of jewellery completed can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks. The first week or two are spent quoting, selecting materials and perfecting a design personalised just for you. Once you have settled on a design to suit your budget, its booked into the workshop. Depending on the complexity of the design it usually takes me 3-6 weeks to hand make your custom piece of jewell...ery. Repairs Repairs generally take anywhere from one to two weeks. The time mainly is dependant on how much work needs to be done to your jewellery and if any replacement parts are required Throughout the process I always ensure to keep my clients updated on the progress of their jobs with behind the scenes images and videos. I believe in not only delivering the best quality workmanship but also the customer service to go with it See more

21.01.2022 This ring was completely hand made for a very special customer. Today when I opened the box to his newly finished ring he was absolutely blown away, he said it was exactly as he remembered I am so humbled that I was able to recreate this memory for his family to once again pass on down to future generations. 20.01.2022 This is what I love so much about my job, seeing the process through from start to finish Prior to running my own business I was a full time jeweller working for some of Perths best workshops. 20.01.2022 The finished ring from yesterday’s video One common misconception about jewellery today is that it all comes from overseas now and is made in a large factory. It was only a few weeks ago that I showed someone one of my videos and they were blown away and thrilled to know that there are still a few manufacturing jewellers left in Australia.... This is the main reason that I love documenting the process of how I hand make jewellery. I be love being able to share my passion and skills with my online community. It really brings me so much joy to know that people enjoy the process. So thank you so much to all of my clients that choose to support an Australian manufacturing business See more

15.01.2022 One thing I get asked a lot is where do all the different colours in gold come from. The answer is, in its pure state gold will always be a bright yellow. From here it can be alloyed with other metals to change the colour. The main colour combinations are yellow, white and rose. However there are some alloy combinations out there that can make other colours such as purple and green, these can only be used like gemstones though as the metal is very brittle.... In Australia we tend to use metals such as silver and palladium for white gold and different levels of copper and silver for yellow and rose gold. What is your favourite colour See more

15.01.2022 So as you all may have seen yesterday, I shared my excitement that last week my sister said yes to the man of her dreams! I was absolutely thrilled when I got the message from James that he needed a ring. I still remember the exact moment, I was sitting waiting for an appointment and after that I couldnt wipe the smile off my face. James and I arranged to meet to choose the perfect diamond for Katie, this was almost disrupted as she called and said she might come ro...und So I promptly called James and we made a sneaky plan to convince her to come later. James picked a beautiful diamond, left, and then Katie was here 20 minutes later picking something else up talk about stressful After we picked the perfect stone James decided on a classic design after listening to all of the *hints* that she had been giving him While making the ring I couldnt help but feel slightly emotional but also so excited that this huge moment in their lives was about to happen and that I was a part of it . Its definitely one of the most memorable moments of my career now. So thank you so much to James for putting your trust in me to make the ring and also for choosing to be her partner forever I hope you all enjoy this video showing the process See more

14.01.2022 So here it is if youve been following along for the last month you would have seen a few shots of this piece being made I am so happy about how this piece turned out and the client was blown away The design brief was to make a daisy Art Deco style pendant in platinum that could be worn a number of ways. We selected a beautiful GIA diamond for the centre and added a personal touch by carving initials to the side gallery of the pendant.
