24.01.2022 As we resume sporting activities here at Elphin Sports Centre, please remember to physical distance at all times. To help this, we have placed down stickers on the seating spaced at 1.5m to help show where you should be seated when spectating. Remember, we are all in this together, and we must all do the right thing.

23.01.2022 Thanks to the guys at Garry Harper Garage Doors for their work on our new door.

21.01.2022 After weeks of consultation with the Tasmanian Health Department, Elphin Sports Centre Board of Management and Staff are pleased to announce that the Centre will re-open from Monday 6th of July, 10am to our patrons. With the reopening of the Centre, there will be changes in place to keep us in line with Government requirements for venues regarding COVID-19. We are eager to hear the sound of sport again inside our halls as they have been empty for too long. We would like to thank all our patrons for their patience during these crazy times!

21.01.2022 Update Regarding Casual Use With our reopening this coming Monday the 6th of July at 10am, there will be some slight adjustments for causal users. Causal use remains from Monday to Thursday between 10am and 3:30pm, and on Fridays from 10am to 12:30pm, when available.... All causal users will be required to report to the main office to a staff member and then sign in. Also all users will be required to follow all signage placed up and requirements outlined in the Elphin Sports Centre COVID-19 Safety Plan & Guidelines (www.elphinsportscentre.org.au/covid-19) Cost for Casual use remains at $5 per person per hour, and while in the past we have been lenient around length of time, with the potential for many people wanting to make use of our reopening, we may have to ask people to leave after their hour or pay an additional $5 for a second hour due to physical distancing requirements. Payment is preferred by contactless payment (PayWave etc.) but we will still accept cash payments for causal use, and payments must be made prior to session to an Elphin Sports Centre Staff member. It is also recommended that casual users bring their own alcohol-based wipes and hand sanitiser to use to clean their equipment and hands during their session. However, Elphin Sports Centre will have hand sanitiser stations at the entry/exit points to the stadium. We ask all casual users to be respectful of others during their use so we can all enjoy being back on the courts.

20.01.2022 Elphin Sports Centre now has an AED installed in each building. Previously we only had one in the main foyer but thanks to Ambulance Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government we have secured a second AED which has been placed in the Foyer near Court 2 & Table Tennis. Let’s hope they don’t need to be used!

19.01.2022 With Elphin having re-opened today after the holiday break, remember when coming into Elphin Sport Centre you are still required to Sign In. We recommend you use the Check In Tas App by the Tasmanian Government, which is simple to use and is being used by other venues around the state already. If you are not able to use the App, you are still required to sign in via the paper sign in forms.... Also remember, please sanitise on entry and physical distance where possible.

05.01.2022 Launceston Basketball Association met with members of the Elphin Sports Centre Board of Directors on the 19th June to discuss our hire agreement with them, in p...articular continuing issues with weather impacting our competitions. Elphin Sports Centre have advised us that limited government funding has been secured, and that roof repairs will be attempted during Summer 2019/2020. This is great news for LBA, and hopefully reduces the impact of weather events on our competition in 2020. See more
