This capability eliminates the need for production machines to leave the work area, which in turn reduces traffic congestion on haul roads. At the completion of the course, women will have a great understanding of opportunities within these sectors as ...well as gaining industry recognised qualifications, an advantage when applying for positions. One such modification included the re-engineering of a Cat 769B surface dump truck to meet underground requirements. 01.01.2022 Throughout the mid to late 1970s, Dale Elphinstone purchased 980C surface loaders from Caterpillar Industrial Products Inc. (CIPI) and modified these to suit underground applications. The modified 980C loader (pictured) was sold to a Tasmanian tin mining company in 1979, featuring a bucket capacity of 6-tonne and dimensions of approximately 3.2 metres wide and 3 metres high. The purpose-designed R2800 LHD superseded the 980B in 1988, boasting an improved bucket capacity of 16-tonne and a smaller footprint of 2.8 metres wide and 2.8 metres high. The Elphinstone LHD era had begun, endorsing the company's ascendance as a leading manufacturer of reliable underground mining equipment.

01.01.2022 The versatile Haulmax 3900 truck from Elphinstone fitted with a Support Vehicles Australia (SVA) fuel and lube service module, sold and serviced by WesTrac to a valued customer in the Pilbara, Western Australia. A total of 17 Haulmax trucks have been delivered to the same customer since 2012, the oldest with more than 40,000 hours of strong reliable service. SVA worked with Elphinstone to integrate the 67,000L capacity module and ensure optimum load distribution on the Haulmax chassis.
