25.01.2022 The EPS Teacher Companion Program in action! Term 4 2020. A second classroom teacher in every class for half of the week is enabling teachers the time they need with students one on one and in small groups. This initiative is giving staff and students additional support as they reconnect with school life and each other. ... As students re-engage with face to face learning, teachers assess students individual needs in order to personalise education programs and provide intervention where needed. 22.01.2022 We have been waiting very patiently for you to return to play!! Sweeping grounds with a combination of adventure, nature play and sensory areas, there is space for everyone at EPS! Last year, EPS was a recipient of the ‘Pick My Project’ community grants program by the Victorian Government. Funds awarded together with those raised by our incredible Parents & Friends Association has resulted in our building 5 new playgrounds!!! ... We have barely had the chance to show them off and can’t wait until it is safe for us to be all together again to celebrate our achievement!!! www.elsternwickps.vic.edu.au

22.01.2022 Performing Arts and PE combined and online at EPS! Mr Gowans and Mr French teach some classic dance moves for the YMCA to our Prep-2 students. Co-ordination, memory, stamina but most importantly fun!!

08.01.2022 Inclusion and Diversity. Our friends Gabriele and Felipe from Chile spent time in Australia working to help migrant families settle in to their new home. They painted an amazing original artwork to brighten up our year 3/4 space and to remind us of the important roll we all play to ensure each of us feel welcome, included, safe valued and respected at EPS.

06.01.2022 The Department of Education and Training has funded a 10-episode podcast series ‘Raising Learners’ through @raisingchildren.net.au Raising Learners provides parents/carers with practical advice, tips and ideas for supporting children’s health, wellbeing and engagement at school and at home, particularly while learning remotely. Topics were drawn from common questions that parents raised with the Department’s coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline and Parentline. ... The first three episodes became available on 1 September, and the rest will be throughout terms 3 and 4. Raising Learners can be accessed via podcast apps or Raising Children Network website.

05.01.2022 Today at EPS we celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day. Reading together, ‘Wilam - Birrarung Story’ by Aunty Joy Murphy, Andrew Kelly and Lisa Kennedy (illustrator). On the shortlist of Children’s Book of the Year Awards, the narrative teaches us the Indigenous history of the Birrarung (Yarra River), the inhabitants that live there, and it’s significance and place in our lives today.... 05.01.2022 Celebrate the 6’s’ fun as far as the eye can see at EPS this week. Each year our Year 6 students run a special event to raise money for their graduation celebration and for the enjoyment of all students. From conception, planning, logistics, finance, catering, marketing and the day itself, the class of 2020 has excelled. Student voice and agency in action at EPS. A huge congratulations on a brilliant week of celebrating you!!
