23.01.2022 ELTHAM TC Hi everyone, As you’ll be well aware the State Government has eased some restrictions this morning. Detail around the new community sport specific guidelines is yet to be released but is expected shortly. The Nillumbik Shire Council (the owners of our facility) will also be working through what has been released by the State Government and waiting for details. Tennis Victoria is in the same boat, and will release their own tennis-specific guidance to all the co...uncils and tennis clubs as soon as they can. The ETC Committee has been planning for the possible return to tennis for a few weeks in anticipation of this moment, and we have a draft plan. Our current task is to work through all the information from the State Government, Nillumbik Shire Council and Tennis Victoria, and adjust our own draft plan accordingly. As soon as we are confident we can open safely, meeting (at a minimum) all the rules that apply to us, we’ll send out an email to all members detailing the conditions under which we can open. 20.01.2022 Due to the lockdown the Nillumbik council has closed all sporting clubs, including ours. At this stage we hope to re-open next Thursday morning. From Tennis Victoria: Effective from 11:59pm, Friday 12 February until 11:59pm Wednesday 17 February, Victoria will enter a 5-day Stage 4 lockdown, based on health advice.... The Victorian Government has instructed a number of activities will need to cease across Victoria including all indoor and all outdoor recreation and sport. As a result of these temporary measures, Tennis Victoria is advising that all community Tennis Clubs/Centres, tennis activities and coaching activities across Victoria must cease operations from 11:59pm Friday 12 February: All tennis clubs and centres are to close All tennis programmes and coaching be cancelled All club, association, and social play be cancelled All public court hire bookings to cease The 5-day lockdown will also mean that all Tennis Victoria competitions and tournaments scheduled within the lockdown period will be cancelled. Stay home, stay safe.

Wednesday 20th May Thursday 21st May Note: Keep an eye on emails over the coming days as some times may change due to player movement logistics and court availability. The great news for Way in Tennis and the Eltham Tennis Club is that we are back in business after a complete shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Yes it will be a little different for a while as we still have to follow strict social distancing measures. Term 2 coaching will run for 8 weeks. Included in these 8 weeks will be the school holidays. Term 3 will start on Monday 13th July. Cya soon.

10.01.2022 Thank you to all of the Way in Tennis players and parents for your support after lockdown #1. We managed to get 7 weeks in for term 2. In term 3 managed to get just 2 weeks of private lessons in before we had to close for lockdown #2. The good new is that when we return, so will the sun and the warm weather. I hope everyone stays safe and we will see you on other end fitter and stronger. Go Eltham!

05.01.2022 Well things have moved fast. Thank you to the Nillumbik Council for giving us the green light. Great news - we can resume tennis at Eltham Tennis Club! ... But the rules have changed since we last played, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are following the advice of Tennis Victoria, released on the 12th of May 2020, on how we can use our club as safely as possible during this time. Way in Tennis players will be contacted this weekend for a Monday start to coaching. Members will be notified via club email.
