18.01.2022 Feel clearer, reduce inflammation, have more energy, kick start weight loss.. sounds good right? Doing a detox is a great way to give back to your body, what ever the motivation behind it. I like to detox once or twice a year, generally before and/or after a period of over-indulgence. Having come out of the fun dry season up here in Darwin and in preparation for Christmas, now is the perfect time for a detox. Activate and optimise your body's detox pathways over a 4 week detox plan. Your body will rid itself of toxic build up and can have you feeling and looking fresher and clearer just in time for Christmas and New Years! 15.01.2022 Eating on the go or at your desk and feeling bloated and tired an hour later? . You may want to consider HOW you eat. . When you’re focused (and especially when your feeling stressed) on getting somewhere or getting something done your body signals a set of responses, moving the blood circulation away from the gut, making it harder for your body to digest foods. ... A few things that can help: . If you can, get out of the office to a nearby park or under a tree. Nature is the best free calming & grounding source available. . Take some deep long breaths to calm your nervous system before eating. Eat slowly. Take your time to chew your food properly, there are enzymes in the mouth that help you break down your food. Start with smaller bites and chew until the food is liquified or has lost all of its texture before swallowing. Avoid drinking too much fluid when eating, some small sips are ok. Consider seeing a Naturopath, especially if your stress and digestive issues are chronic. There are beautiful herbal medicines that can help here. Or/and you may benefit from some gut healing too. . . . #mindfullness #healthyeating #naturopath See more

11.01.2022 Tabouli w a smart swap // hemp seeds instead of bulgur wheat Going on a wheat, gluten or dairy free diet for health reasons doesn’t mean you have to go without. You just need to find some smart swaps - a big part of personalised nutrition. What’s awesome about this dish:... Contains bulk parsley- parsley is highly antioxidant, contains vitamins and minerals beneficial for skin and immune health, kidney detoxification and blood purification Hemp seeds- high in protein and essential fatty acids (store in the fridge for this reason) Recipe: 1 bunch parsley chopped 1 small tomato 2-3 tbsp hemp seeds 1/2 a cucumber (not traditional either but really freshened it up and added some crunch) Dressing: 1 tbsp olive oil & a squeeze of lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. #naturopath #nutrition #glutenfree #parsley #hempseeds #antioxidants #healthyrecipes

08.01.2022 Summer fruit appreciation post // MANGO Did you know a mango contains a days worth of dietary vitamin A?(based on an average adult). Vitamin A is vital for skin cell replication, skin health & healing. Fats are required when converting beta carotene (plant form of vit A) into the more bioavailable form of Vit A, so add some full fat yogurt/nuts/seeds to serve enjoy #skinfood #beautyfood #naturopath #nutrition #health

07.01.2022 Gut feelings //This study reveals a new set of pathways that use gut cells to rapidly communicate with the brain stem

07.01.2022 HEALING JELLIES // Made with 100% grass fed beef gelatin (from the protein collagen) - not only very healing for the GIT (gastrointestinal tract) lining, it also promotes collagen production in the whole body: joints, muscles, ligaments and skin. Also added a good dose of zinc and C, zinc is highly beneficial with GIT healing- helping to tighten the junctions in the GIT lining. Vitamin C is highly antioxidant and also involved in the synthesis of collagen throughout the... body. I also added a little apple juice, no real health benefit here, but helped with flavour. They taste like gummy bears! @nutraorganics @mediherbaus #collagen #guthealth #nutrition
