20.01.2022 So what happened on this day (24 November) in EP's fascinating life... Well in: 1956 - he performed at the Hobart Arena, Troy, Ohio at 3.00 and 8.00 pm (back in the day when entertainers did 2 shows per day) 1964 - production of Tickle Me ended and Elvis drove home to Memphis (see you bye!) There may be little evidence of the concert but we can certainly enjoy 'Tickle Me' regularly

20.01.2022 Don’t Be Cruel by Chi Chi. I'm sure Elvis would have supported this wonderful cause and band (and loved this fantastic version of his song) How our Red Benches are reaching people in so many different ways For some time we’ve done covers of songs quite differently to the originals, and being Elvis fans - we found a perfect way for us to do one of his biggest hits, Don’t be Cruel - slowed down as more of an emotional ballad. The more we worked on the song, the more I... realised the lyrics could lend themselves to something very different than was originally intended in 1956! I heard a cry for help if you will. In this spirit, we realised we were creating a deeper message with this piece, and while scouting for locations, I told Rose I wanted to start the video with her on a bench sitting alone. Rose saw a Red bench in the distance and thought it would be perfect - imagine how shocked we both were when we read the Plaque on the bench! This was fate! We had other, quite different ideas for this video, yet our plans always seemed to fall over at the last minute, but when we saw the Red Bench, we knew everything was leading us to this, and that the Red Rose Foundation was the place to share it.... - Greg Powell, from Brisbane based band, Chi Chi. **Caution: re-enactment of violence in video See more

19.01.2022 We have some very talented Cool Clubbers out there - Miss Shiralee has bought the set of Elvis Pop Vinyls (which we spoke about a couple of months ago) and has set up a light under her '68 Comeback Special figurine so that he shimmers and glows like the star he is! Does anyone else have any 'cool' photos they'd like to share (and a big thanks to the lovely Shiralee for sending me hers )

18.01.2022 I mentioned this a couple of months ago - the wonderful rendition of Don’t Be Cruel by Brisbane duo Chi Chi Greg and Rose decided to slow their version down as more of an emotional ballad then realised that the meaning could be so much deeper than Elvis intended. This led to the song being a tribute to those who are unfortunately subject to 'cruelty' in the home environment and now raise funds for the fabulous 'Red Benches' project SO PLEASE SUPPORT by downloading this beautiful song! Red Benches assist people in dire situations so your help is greatly appreciated - more info on them here (https://www.facebook.com/redrosefoundation.com.au) https://gyro.lnk.to/DontBeCruel

16.01.2022 With the sad passing of Sean Connery a couple of days ago, many mags have shared Priscilla's revelation that Elvis would have loved several of the gadgets that James Bond used Given EP had many hi-tech items at Graceland (including one of the first VCR's, microwaves, and remote controls sold in Memphis!), plus lived a glamorous lifestyle, then I'm sure we could all imagine him having Bond's cars, guns, and all the cool spy stuff! https://www.express.co.uk//elvis-presley-news-sean-connery

15.01.2022 If you're interested to know how Baz Luhrmann's movie about Elvis is progressing then you will find out some tid bits from this new article (you just have to wade through the 'celebrity goss' parts ) All powering along on the Gold Coast apparently so you'll have to keep an eye out - you may see Austin or Tom sunning themselves down on the beach! https://www.dailymail.co.uk//Austin-Butler-takes-break-fil

06.01.2022 Elvis and Englebert - great friends whom Elvis once said that he'd felt he found the twin brother he had lost at birth when he met him. Englebert was most humbled and said he idolized Elvis and thought he was the greatest talent ever and the most real performer he'd ever come across To hear more about their wonderful friendship, have a listen to this short video (from our Group page - thanks John) where Englebert will fill you in on more tidbits https://www.facebook.com/Elvismemoriesfor//658356675039814
