24.01.2022 The Blue Mountains Music Festival was today cancelled 12 hours before it was due to start. An absolute disaster, for the promoters, the fans and the artists. I visited the site today and the amount of work that had taken place was staggering. Unfortunately a child in the Katoomba High School caught the disease and it was locked down. A good deal of the shows were based in the school so they really had no choice but to cancel the Festival. My absolute sympathies to everyone in...volved. The Katoomba RSL however, the main venue for the Blue Mountains Elvis Festival, continues to trade and the CEO Nick Darias assures me it's 'business as usual'. The Blue Mountains Elvis Festival will be going ahead as planned in August . Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd. 19.01.2022 Hi Folks, An update on The Blue Mountains Elvis Festival, The Hawkesbury River Elvis Festival and Gordon Hendricks 2021 Tour of Australia. Blue Mountains Elvis Festival.... I have been in contact with both Gordon Hendricks (UK ) and John Coates ( Ireland ) my two overseas artists for this year and they are presently in lockdown , just like the rest of us. No overseas travel is permitted at this stage but there is still more than three months to go for this to change. If they can travel then they will come, it's as simple as that. All the Australian artists that are booked for the festival are still all good to go as far as I am aware. No one has contacted me to say they can't make it or indicated they might cancel. I think everyone is rarin' to go A big thank you to all the people that have already bought tickets, weekend passes and accommodation packages. Only two people to date have asked for a refund. My decision to carry on and do my best to stage the Festival this year was based on the loyalty of the fans that have stuck by me all these years and continue to do so. Tickets for all shows are available on the website. [email protected] A final decision will be made June 30th as to whether the festival will go ahead, taking into consideration, the availability to travel to Australia of the overseas artists. Travel restrictions in Australia. The situation with the staging of shows at the Katoomba RSL and Palais Royale and the volume of pre-sold tickets. The Katoomba RSL have informed me that they are as much in the dark regarding the lifting of restrictions as the rest of us. Should the Festival have to be cancelled this year, it cannot be changed to a later date, then of course full refunds will be given. Should it proceed without the overseas artists then all ticket prices and weekend passes will be adjusted accordingly. The Hawkesbury River Elvis Festival will again be held on the first week in March and be expanded to a three day event. 18.01.2022 1ST HAWKESBURY RIVER ELVIS FESTIVAL FEB 28/29 Thank you all for coming out to the 1st Hawkesbury River Elvis Festival over the weekend. Big thank you to Dony Andrian & Lisa from Riverside Oaks Golf Resort for their absolute committment to this Festival from it's inception in October 2019... To be quite honest not as many people attended as I would have liked but nonetheless enough people came to make it a success and as such the management have asked that I do it again next year ( Bigger & Better ) Special thank you to Ian Gibson for organising 30 classic cars for the event. He tells me that they enjoyed the event so much there will be 60 cars next year. Cool Cars ,Pixie, John & Chris. Merchandise Both feature shows and the free shows in the lounge went off extremely well and I would like to thank personally all the artists that performed for their input and professionalism. 18.01.2022 BLUE MOUNTAINS ELVIS FESTIVAL 2020 Hi Everyone, It's with great regret that I have to inform you that the Festival will not be taking place this year. I really tried to keep it going for as long as possible before canceling. My hope was to try and find some way to perhaps even have a few shows to keep it alive for this year.... The CEO of the Katoomba RSL , Nick Darias has just informed me that at this stage there is a 275 person limit on the whole club and once that limit has been reached even if you have a ticket for a show you won't be allowed in. He has at present no entertainment booked for the club until further notice. I had a great line up planned for this year including World No. 1 Gordon Hendricks (UK) Ireland's No.1 John Coates and some of Australia's finest ETA's including Brendon Chase , Brody Finlay, Carmine Cimilio, Stuey V & Peter Paki ( Tom Jones ). Next years festival will go ahead bigger and better than ever with hopefully Gordon Hendricks and John Coates again headlining my overseas acts together with a few surprises. The Festival team of :- Myself , Promoter/Owner Ben Greene, Sound & Lighting Gordon Carlsen, Festival Manager Shaylee Wilde , administration will be doing our best over the next 14 months to make the 2021 Blue Mountains Elvis Festival the best ever. All pre sold tickets and accommodation packages for this year will be refunded in FULL over the coming weeks. A NEW ERA. A NEW START On a personal note I would like to offer an olive branch and invitation to any promoter, artist, competitor, fan, etc. that I have had a disagreement with in the past ( and there are many, it's the nature of the job ) to all work together with myself and each other in the future, for the good of the industry and the artists involved. I told them that "I thought the world needs another Elvis Festival like a hole in the head". So they invited me to spend a few days at the resort and I was absolutely blown away by the facilities. This is no ordinary club. This is special. Recorded my song 'Blue Atmosphere' that came third in the now defunct Yamaha World Song Contest 1983. Played on the pub rock circuit of the glorious 80's for a couple of years then went to the great band graveyard in the sky.... 07.01.2022 ATTENTION 8TH ANNUAL BLUE MOUNTAINS ELVIS FESTIVAL AUGUST 20th-23rd 2020. After consulting with family, friends, artists, musicians, Katoomba RSL, Palais Royale Hotel & Family Hotel I have decided to take the optimistic way forward and CONTINUE with my preparations for this years Blue Mountains Elvis Festival. Still almost five months away.... From two shows in 2013 and my main venue The Katoomba RSL burning to the ground in 2017 I have carried on regardless and continued the festival through many hard times over the years. This year is proving to be the hardest . The bush fires at the start of the year and now the virus has brought the Blue Mountains as well as the whole country's economy to it's knees. Along with my good friend Gordon Carlsen,( my Tour Manager on the last National Tour ), my feature acts GORDON HENDRICKS ( UK ), JOHN COATES ( IRELAND ), BRENDON CHASE ( NZ ), BRODY FINLAY ( AUS ) Carmine Cimilio, Peter Paki, Shaylee Wilde, Ben Greene Stuey V, Gavin Chatelier, Shelvis, Trevor Martin, Broderick Jones & more artists TBA. we are determined to make this year the best so far. and bring as much joy as we can to the many Elvis fans around the country. 01.01.2022 All set for the feature shows at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort for the Hawkesbury River Elvis Festival
01.01.2022 Hi Everyone Kicked off the Gordon Hendricks Tour in Perth with three very successful shows. Guest ETA on those three shows was Stuey V Got to know him very well, in fact shared a room with him in Mandurah after the show.... His wife, who I met at only one show as she was unable to travel far , is not doing too good and is mainly confined to a wheelchair. Stuey is doing what he can but needs a helping hand with some medical expenses. The tix for the benefit show at the Katoomba RSL March 21 are selling well but there are still seats available. World class acts like Aaron Mansfield as Roy Orbison, Allan Wright as Elvis and the Cadillacs are performing for free supported by other guest artists from around the country. Stuey himself will be flying in from Perth especially for the show. You won't see most of the acts performing on the show and in the lounge at this year's Colonel Col's BLUE MOUNTAINS ELVIS FESTIVAL , so here's your chance to see them at the Katoomba RSL one last time I'll arrange for the next fifty people who buy a ticket for the show from Monday 17th February to receive a free BLUE MOUNTAINS ELVIS FESTIVAL cap valued at $15 See you there Colin Greene
