15.01.2022 CANCELLED Elwood Community March 14th Market With many of our Community expressing their concerns with regards to community events, the Elwood Community Market Committee has decided to cancel the March 14th market.... This decision has not been taken lightly. We have made this decision to err on the side of caution with regards to community events and responding to our Community voice. Thank you to all who volunteered for the market, we look forward to welcoming your help for future markets. We are asking all Stallholders to consider using their stall fee for the May 2nd market. Please be aware that this decision was made in consultation with Elwood Primary School, but was the decision of the Market Committee. There are NO cases of COVID19 known at the school, and the cancellation of the March market was purely a community and cautionary decision. The school continues to be updated and advised by DHHS and DET on recommendations and guidelines in regards to school operation. EPS is continuing to work closely with The Department of Education and Training (DET) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to plan for and respond to any likely impact on our school from COVID-19. As Elwood Primary School does not have a student or staff member in one of the two above categories, we do not need to take further action at this time. Yep...we have music (although limited to the main stage because #safetyfirst ) First up, the angelic voice of Alex Cowen from 9;30am, followed by the feel good tones and guitar of Randal McDonnell at 10am. The incredible and soulful Heidi Lee will take the stage at 11am, followed by the amazing H E N R Y at noon.... Fun fact: Henry is currently working on a EP and has been gracing our stage for four years - since he was 14yo.....oh time flies! 04.01.2022 UPDATE: Hello Elwood Community Market supporters, As you are likely already aware, due to the Victorian Government restrictions during Stage 3 restrictions, the Elwood Community Market have postponed future markets until restrictions have eased.... We will confirm our next market via a Facebook post here and email contact as soon as we know when we will be allowed to, and it is safe to, run our next market. As the main fundraiser for Elwood Primary, and a celebrated community event, we are disappointed to not be hosting regular markets and hope to see you all together again in the not too distant future. (We miss you!) For those asking re the Farmers Market (that is hosted at Elwood Primary), please note that the Farmers Market is not related to the Elwood Community Market. The Farmers Market also have special rights to run as they have been deemed 'essential services' as far as selling food is concerned. As a Community Market, our market (run by parents and teachers of the school) does not fall under the same guidelines. In the meantime, please stay safe.
