This then elevates our mood, calms our mind and nurtures our soul. In the busyness of life, we can forget to nurture our own unique creativity. At Elysian, we bring creativity into our therapeutic practice through art, movement, sound, music, drama and writing. Creativity provides us with an outlet away from the rational confines of the mind ...to help our clients express disturbances in the psyche and to connect into the richness of their inner world. This process allows the deep hurts from past trauma and relentless anxiety to be expressed out of the somatic body. It is within the process of creating that we can start to strengthen and restore the spirit. Creativity is NOT solely the domain of a select few in the artistic fields. Creativity is about using your imagination, connecting to your soul, your life myth and being in flow. It’s about trying new things and having new experiences. Creativity often flourishes when we spend some quiet time alone allowing the process to unfold, and removing any judgement of our experience. Your creativity may be in food, gardening, styling, problem solving, the list is endless! Whatever it is, pursue interests that energise you and excite your imagination.
