25.01.2022 OVER RUGGING I know it's overcast.... wet... and muddy..... and more rain is coming. But people, please consider your horse's rugging needs. Im actually sick ...to my gut of driving around and seeing heavy rugs on horses in this weather. Its 29 and the humidity is vile. I worked this horse for 20 mins at a light trot and this was the result. Imagine what those poor buggers standing there in their sweaty synthetics and heavy winter rugs are feeling! Don't use the excuse you left them on when you left for work.... take them off!!! If you have to get wet rugging them in the pouring rain after work, so be it. They come first. Always. Here's what we know for sure.... Horses are waterproof. Rain won't make them shrink. RUGS don't stop them growing coats.... the shorter days do. There are any number of online articles and information available to you in regards to over rugging and how horses can regulate their body temperatures. Read them and be vigilant. If you can't be bothered to unrug your horses in the heat, chances are, you probably can't be bothered checking the facts. So, here's a handful for you to start... 24.01.2022 WINNING IS NOT NORMAL. Winning is not normal. That does not mean that there is anything wrong with winning. It is just, not normal. It’s HIGHLY UNUSUAL. Every competition has only one winner. No matter how many people enter, only one person wins.... Winning is UNUSUAL - as such it REQUIRES unusual action. In order to win, you must do EXTRAORDINARY things. You can not just be one of the crowd, the crowd does not win. You have to be willing to STAND OUT and ACT DIFFERENTLY. Your actions need to reflect UNUSUAL values and priorities. You have to VALUE SUCCESS more than others do.You have to WANT IT MORE. Wanting it more is a DECISION you make and ACT UPON - it’s NOT some inherent quality or burning inner drive or inspiration. You have to make that value a PRIORITY. You can not TRAIN like everyone else. You have to train MORE and train BETTER. You can not ACT like everyone else. You can not TALK like everyone else. You can not THINK like everyone else. You can not JOIN the crowd or act to the standards of the crowd, or do what is in. You need to be willing to STAND OUT from the crowd CONSISTENTLY in an EXCEPTIONAL action. If you want to win, you need to ACCEPT THE RISKS and perhaps the LONELINESS because; WINNING IS NOT NORMAL.

19.01.2022 MASSIVE NEWS As it has become evident to all those close to me, for quite some time, I've needed to change the hectic craziness that is my life. That's finally happened From the 17th October, we will no longer be running the property here in Maraylya. ... We have instead, handed the reins (and the lease!) to our good friends and great clients, Kim, Olivia and Chris Sindel. This presents many great opportunities for not only me, but also my family, friends, horses, clients and owners. Whilst we will no longer be residing at the property, Kim and I have worked very hard on developing strategies that enable me to still base all my business activities here, where I can concentrate more on my riding, training and coaching. The things I'm truly passionate about. The facilities and property will still be available for use, and in due course we will ensure that it's a smooth transition between operators. I am very grateful to have been given amazing opportunities and have some seriously talented horses to ride and compete and I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter in my life. A huge thanks goes out to everyone that has been very supportive of this massive decision. 18.01.2022 The Monaro Equestricare programs are really coming together. This is an initiative George Walters and I have created for the entire Snowy Monaro, South Coast and surrounding regions. What we both realised after our first Clinic at Home Valley Horse and Adventure park, was that all the focus was on the COVID-19 pandemic; that the families and communities left facing the effects of long standing drought and an unprecedented 2019-2020 fire season, had all but been forgotten abo...ut. Their personal, financial and psychological struggles are still very prevalent and we have created several programs that will encourage and promote great mental health, local economy and sports recognition within the community. Here is a little update of what to expect at Home Valley Horse and Adventure Park and our plans for these programs going forward. Thanks to the immense support of Monaro Family Support Service and South Coast Rural Relief, we have some truly groundbreaking and exciting things planned for the region and beyond in the very near future I'll keep you posted with more information as we gear up to officially launch our programs and collaborations with our partners on the 11th July 2020. 12.01.2022 So much to appreciate in one little post. Firstly, big hugs to my favourite Lurch horse, Ludic Fallacy. I’m so incredibly in love with this horse. He’s sensitive and quirky and an absolute Bohemeth of an animal, but he really does put a massive smile on my face every day. As always, much gratitude and extreme thanks to Karen Miller for trusting me with our gorgeous giant.... The people that helped get this horse on track and fighting fit. Melanie Turner and Sam Sherrington, what you guys do for Ludic never goes unnoticed. @rodney_brazzill for ensuring his special shoes keep all 4 of those very long (sometimes completely uncoordinated ) legs balanced and sound. The staff that ensure Ludic’s very special needs and requirements are met everyday. He isn’t the easiest horse to manage but he loves you for what you do for him. It was amazing to have a few free days of heavy construction around the farm to be able to train on our wonderful arena built by Australian Horse Arenas, incorporating the all weather surface from @martin_collins_australia . We are in one of the wettest December’s in history and it rides an absolute dream! Finally, but definitely not least importantly, @lucas.hurps for your wonderful coaching session. Loving how we all work so well together and looking forward to really seeing how far this entire partnership can go!

07.01.2022 Here's a little give back Just reaching out to people in regional areas that are connected to those affected by bushfires and drought. With the current cond...itions surrounding Corona Virus, and those that for years, have been affected by the devastation of drought, I understand the financial burdens felt by those implicated. As such, I will be looking to offer some free horse training and coaching to children and families in these trying and devastating situations. It's certainly a luxury few can afford at the moment, but a way to give something back to those that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity. If you can help, or perhaps point me in the direction of someone in the local community that may be able to assist in organising this opportunity, I'd love to hear back and discuss further. See more

04.01.2022 I had the most fabulous time teaching all day at the Emadilo Equestrian/ Sydney Horse Express Showjumping clinic today. Some familiar faces, as well as plenty of new ones, each with their own challenges and goals. I'm really proud of every, single rider stepping out of their comfort zones and progressing through their lessons with a smile on their face. We will hold one or two more of these clinics before the end of the year, so stay tuned for dates!!
