Amino acids are mainly uptaked as a Nitrogen source by symbiotic cells in corals called zooxanthellae. It is indeed... known that the transfer of photosynthates from the zooxanthellae to the animal is a source of energy, enhancing the animal metabolism and the incorporation of nitrogen into proteins (Grover et al., 2008). Conclusion If you decide you choose amino acid as a food source for corals, first thing first, understand how amino acid affect your coral and aquarium, don't be fooled by promising words on Ad.
