Through a range of experiences in the residential field he has found an interest for fine detailing and the construction process. ... Nikita is currently studying a double diploma in building and construction and construction management in the evenings. During the day he works as a facade designer and consultant. Michis experience at UoN instilled in her the importance of minimising our impact on the environment and the power of design to improve the lives of people. During her time at UoN, Michi was a recipient of the Parker Fellowship, enabling her to trav...el throughout Asia for 6 months to examine how buildings respond to their local climate and context in order to better understand how they function and regulate thermal comfort. Michi applied this knowledge in her final year Masters thesis, seeking to challenge the traditional suburban development model by adopting a co-housing framework based on ecological principles and informed by vernacular architecture. Michi currently works at COX Architecture, where she has gained experience on a variety of projects spanning a range of sectors including residential architecture, education, and cultural and community spaces. In her spare time, Michi enjoys travelling, hiking, ceramics, and playing Ultimate frisbee. See more

After completing his studies at the University of Canberra, he commenced work as a Graduate for Allan Spira Architects. In late 2019 James became a registered architect and continues to work with the small team at Allan Spira Architects. ... James architectural experience ranges from finely crafted energy efficient homes through to heritage work and small renovations. James is currently undertaking a Cert IV in Building and Construction as he hopes to one day combine his passion of both architecture and building into one role. 03.01.2022 EmAGN sketch competition In the interest of encouraging people to get outdoors during this period of COVID uncertainty, EmAGN ACT is running a sketch competition. This is a fun way to encourage design professionals to hone their hand sketching skills and appreciate the local built environment. Prizes will awarded to the top three entries. Prizes are to be confirmed at this stage but are sure to be worthwhile. All entries shall be promoted via EmAGN social media and is a g...reat way to showcase your sketching skills to the wider design community. Submission requirements are simple; hand sketches, drawings and illustrations that highlight Canberra Architecture. Get away from your desk or home office for a few hours and use your artistic skills to show us what you see. It could be a major iconic architectural statement, under-appreciated design gem, small detail, suburban streetscape, un-built design proposal or a depiction of daily life in our city. Show us what you love about Canberras built landscape. All mediums welcome; pen, pencil, charcoal, paint, black & white or colour and more. Anything that showcases your artistic hand-eye coordination and Canberras architectural style. Please submit your entries to [email protected].
