If you could describe your architectural practice in 5 words, what would they be? Relaxed, personal, interested, good willed. (Ifirmly believe that everyone in this businessthe owners, me, Council, the engineers, consultants and builder should benefit from each project.) How do you think architectural practice will change in Newcastle over the next 5-10 years? Energy efficient sustainable designi.e..Double glazed windows, rooftop solar panels, Passive House principles, natural and highly insulated materials, will become normalised not just due to moral reasons, but they also make hard economic sense. Less energy = more money. What projects are you working on at the moment? New houses and additions with unique briefs for unique people aroundNewcastleand some in Sydney. What would you love to design that you haven't already? Irrespective of scale, experience or budget? A small public building like a remote National Park cabin, or bird watching shelter, or a toilet block. If you could give fresh graduate James a piece of advice, what would it be?
