25.01.2022 Holy moly, the weather forecast was not lying when it said severe frost! I couldn't quite believe it when we reached this location, it was a winter wonderland! This was a first for me and inside I was doing a little excited dance. Asked this beautiful family if they were game to head on it to the frosty glistening clearing, and yay they were totally up for it! I'm in the process of photographing images for the 2021 calendar which involves visiting towns in the indigo area and finding recognisable buildings and landmarks. The two little monsters playing in the rain here are mine......who can tell me where this building is located in the Indigo Shire?? ... You've probably driven past it a thousand times like me, and never really even noticed it there. 19.01.2022 I've recently finished my first ever chestnut picking experience. When Covid-19 hit, our family (like many others) was faced with the terrifying reality of suddenly having no income. After weeks of looking for work this chestnut picking job became available. It is backbreaking work and after the first day I came home, could hardly move and wondered if I would be able to convince myself to go back again the next day! But I worked out here for a month and it is an experience I... feel so lucky to have had! I got to spend days upon days on end outside in a beautiful chestnut orchard with no demands or expectations other than to pick the nuts right in front of me. It was hours of just me and my music, and I don't think my mind will be so still and uncluttered like that ever again. I actually had the chance to sort through a lot of stuff in my mind that had been filed away in the "I'll get to that later" pigeon hole. The other pickers were such wonderful people and the owners also asked me to photograph the harvest season for them. So what started out as a last resort job to help us while in survival mode ended up being an amazing experience I won't ever forget! #embarkphotography #beechworth #beechworthphotographer #chestnutharvest
