25.01.2022 Presidência Portuguesa do Conselho da União Europeia Durante o primeiro semestre de 2021, Portugal exerce a presidência rotativa do Conselho da União Europeia, assumindo o importante papel de planear e presidir às reuniões do Conselho da União Europeia e das suas instâncias preparatórias e de o representar nas relações com as outras instituições da UE. Trata-se da 4. ocasião em que o nosso país desempenha estas importantes funções desde que aderiu à União Europeia em 1986 e... é-nos muito grato em Camberra proceder à mais ampla divulgação possível da ação de Portugal durante a nossa presidência da União Europeia. Para o exercício da Presidência, Portugal estabeleceu as seguintes prioridades principais: a promoção da recuperação económica e social europeia fomentada pelas transições climática e digital; a concretização do Pilar Social da União Europeia como elemento essencial para assegurar uma transição climática e digital justa e inclusiva e o reforço da autonomia estratégica de uma Europa aberta ao mundo, assumindo o compromisso de trabalhar por uma União Europeia resiliente, social, verde, digital e global. Sob o pano-de-fundo de uma conjuntura atual extremamente adversa da pandemia global do Covid-19, a qual abalou significativamente a União Europeia e os seus Estados-Membros nos mais diversos aspetos, o trio de Presidências do Conselho da UE, que compreende a Alemanha, Portugal e a Eslovénia, adotou um programa com a duração de 18 meses, que abrange as principais prioridades da Agenda Estratégica 2019-2024, designadamente a importância de proteger os cidadãos e as liberdades; de desenvolver uma base económica forte e dinâmica; de construir uma Europa com impacto neutro no clima; de promover os interesses e valores europeus na cena mundial; de se chegar rapidamente a acordo sobre o próximo Quadro Financeiro Plurianual e os programas setoriais conexos e de procurar uma parceria abrangente com o Reino Unido. É neste quadro que temos o gosto de convidar a todos para consultarem e seguirem o portal 2021PORTUGAL.EU (https://www.2021portugal.eu/), destinado a promover e divulgar a ação desenvolvida pelo nosso país durante a Presidência Portuguesa do Conselho da União Europeia, certos de que será um momento particular de afirmação da contribuição portuguesa para a construção e consolidação do projeto europeu. 17.01.2022 Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union During the first half of 2021, Portugal holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, assuming the important role of planning and presiding over meetings of the Council of the European Union and its preparatory instances and representing it in its relations with the other EU institutions. This is the 4th occasion that our country has performed these important functions since joining the European ...Union in 1986 and we are very pleased in Canberra to do the widest possible public disclosure of Portugal's action during our presidency of the European Union. For the exercise of the Presidency, Portugal established the following main priorities: the promotion of European economic and social recovery fostered by climate and digital transitions; the implementation of the European Union's Social Pillar as an essential element to ensure a fair and inclusive climate and digital transition and the strengthening of the strategic autonomy of Europe open to the world, with a commitment to work for a resilient, social, green, digital European Union and global. Against the background of an extremely adverse current situation of the Covid-19 global pandemic, which has significantly affected the European Union and its Member States in many different aspects, the trio of Presidencies of the EU Council, which comprises Germany, Portugal and Slovenia, have adopted an 18-month program that covers the main priorities of the Strategic Agenda 2019-2024, namely the importance of protecting citizens and freedoms; the development of a strong and dynamic economic base; building up a neutral climate impact; to promote European interests and values on the world stage; to agree quickly on the next Multiannual Financial Framework and related sectoral programs and to seek a comprehensive partnership with the United Kingdom. In this framework, we are pleased to invite everyone to consult and follow the 2021PORTUGAL.EU portal (https://www.2021portugal.eu/), designed to promote and publicize the action developed by our country during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, certain that it will be a particular moment of affirmation of the Portuguese contribution to the strengthening and consolidation of the European project.
