24.01.2022 Hello probably about time I posted on here, it’s been a while, thought I should let you know I am still here and taking personal training sessions three / four mornings a week. I have a couple of later appointments available atm (between 8-9:30 am). . Today I brought the apprentice in with me. We tried some new moves together, including this one, finally starting to feel my core strength getting back there... I’m aiming to get this exercise strong single legged aka pistol ...squat (watch this space) I better hurry because this kid is not getting any lighter. . Coco says ‘Av ooh’ which is her saying ‘love you’ twice in this little clip, (okay, you have to rrrrreally listen but still) kind of stoked I got it on camera haha . Happy Friday all. 21.01.2022 Was hoping the little one would join me for one last session in the studio for the year, but it wasn’t to be... I just want to say I feel so proud of the progress each of my clients have made this year. You guys are the soul reason my little biz exists and you make my work fun and fulfilling. 10.01.2022 Wow, last nights Intuitive Eating Workshop with Casey from @eat_smart_nutrition was so insightful! . Here are 10 take homes: . 1. Learn to see hunger for exactly what it is, your body asking for nourishment, rather than something to fight with willpower. .... 2. The clock doesn’t determine when or how much has to be consumed. . 3. If we fight the urge to eat the chocolate and drink the wine in an effort to be wholesome, the inner rebel (she's in all of us) will fight back till she gets the whole block or drinks that whole dam bottle! Then proceed to say "see, i told you you didn't have any will power." . 4. That when you take the rules and obsession away from food, they aren’t nearly as fascinating or enticing anymore. If I want the chocolate, I eat the chocolate. It’s bloody delicious but its just chocolate. I can access it at virtually any time or place anywhere I may be. . . 5. Eating is something to take pleasure in. Food is wonderful and delicious, and we have taste buds for a reason. Tracking, counting, weighing measuring and obsessing is just not pleasurable. . . 6. That moving my body in a way that feels good for me is far more beneficial to my health than the calories I have burnt. . 7. Gluten, dairy, sugar and meat are not evil despite the wellness world telling us they are. The guilt and shame and confusion around eating them are way worse for your health than they could ever be. . 8. That Diet Culture plays on our insecurities. It’s seductive and promises the world but then almost never delivers those promises long term. . 9. We are all born to eat intuitively until Diet Culture strikes. Intuitive eating is getting back in touch with our own natural intuitive eater. . 10. No one knows what my body needs more than my body. When you let that inner wisdom guide you, it will steer you exactly where you need to go. Be it with food choices, movement choices and self care. We love this! Soothing a screaming-child, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, dealing with interrupted sleep, attending to never ending laundry and juggling a return to work are massively under-rated skills. Finding your confidence after the major transformation your body and life have been through can be even harder.... To all the mamas showing up everyday, doing their best, I see you. 01.01.2022 Friyay Flex’n!! These guys got put through their paces in this mornings 5:30 session. We trained outdoors under the big bright full moon , which was soon replaced by a beautiful sunrise took on some challenging new moves and had a few laughs too (I like to move-it-move-it *inside joke). Name a better way to wrap up the work-week and get weekend ready???!
