24.01.2022 This is how quickly things can change. We have just been advised by the Dental Board of Australia, that as of Friday 7th of August, we will be moving to level 3. This means that we will not be seeing any patients for any form of treatment. Appologies to everyone but, again it is completely out of our hands. Please stay safe. If there are any emergencies please call the practice number 9705 6782

22.01.2022 THINK BEFORE YOU DRINK !! We have all heard that eating too much SUGAR is bad for our teeth, but did you know that drinking SUGAR FREE drinks can also be just ...as damaging to our teeth? Sugar sweetened beverages have high levels of sugar and drinking these can significantly contribute to tooth decay. Regular and diet soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, fruit juices, fruit drinks and cordials also have high acid levels that can cause tooth erosion. Try and stick to drinking herbal teas and water as much as possible to avoid any early decay.

21.01.2022 From the Australian Dental Association Tuesday August 4th: We are continuing to remain in close communication with the Chief Health Officer and Health Minister regarding the revised government restrictions. The Stage 4 restrictions come into force at 11:59pm Wednesday 5 August and we have been reassured that dentistry remains an essential service. Until further update, our current recommendations remain. These recommendations are also supported by the Chief Health Officer.... So at this stage we will be open. Facemasks still mandatory. No braces on, no braces off and no repairs until further notice. We fully understand if you prefer not to attend during this period, but please ring and let us know. Stay safe

09.01.2022 In light of the global crisis of COVID-19, the Australian Society of Orthodontists are regularly reviewing the governments advice and implementing recommendati...ons to safeguard the health of all orthodontic patients, as well as the staff of orthodontic practices. Update: As of 27th April, well see health restrictions easing to category 2. This means that many orthodontic offices will be open and able to resume most regular procedures. Existing patients and urgent appointments may still be prioritised in this time, and there may be some limitations to the procedures able to be performed. Please contact your treating orthodontist for more information specific to your plan.

09.01.2022 Unfortunately, this is what it has come to. Everyone over the age of 12 entering the practice MUST wear a facemask from Thursday onwards. We are not in a position to supply masks as we are limited in our stocks. Stay safe.

09.01.2022 Dear Patients and Families, We find ourselves in uncharted waters. Containment of the spread of the virus is paramount and the Australian government has stressed the importance of staying home as much as possible to help with this goal. In accordance with the directive issued by the Australian Government through the Dental Board of Australia, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Society of Ort...hodontists (ASO), we will need to temporarily close our practice and reschedule regular appointments to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Our office will be closed effective immediately and we will be constantly monitoring the advice of the Australian Government and health regulators and will reopen as soon as permitted. We will contact you in due course to reschedule appointments and we hope that you understand and be patient with us during these challenging times. This closure has been forced upon us by the authorities in an attempt to halt the progress of the Corona virus. Please do not attend our clinic during this period of Government-mandated closure. We are only permitted to see patients experiencing a genuine emergency that cannot wait until we reopen and will need to schedule those appointments at a suitable time. We cannot repair broken brackets or replace lost retainers, so please be careful. If you have a query or matter to discuss, please feel free to contact us on [email protected] and we will respond to your email as soon as possible. Sincerest apologies to those patients who were scheduled to have their braces remove or treatment started. Unfortunately, this is out of our hands and we must follow the regulations set out by the regulatory bodies. We thank you for your support during this challenging time and look forward to seeing you when our office reopens, hopefully in the very near future! We will get through it together. Well get through it by working together to save lives. Please remember this is temporary. There will be the other side. But right now, lets just do what were being asked to and keep people safe. With kindest regards Dr Joe Papa and Sarah. See more

08.01.2022 Some light at the end of this tunnel with the Health Minister allowing us to return to work from September 29th. This will be at ADA level 2, which means no braces can be removed or placed. So no new starts or repairs at this stage. We will be contacting patients soon to make appointments, so please dont call yet. A great deal of organizing has to happen before we can reopen. Thank you for your patience. Stay safe

06.01.2022 Unfortunately with the increase in Covid-19 cases, the Australian Dental Association has moved us back into level 2 from Wednesday 15th July. That means no braces on, no braces off and no repair of breakages, as these procedure generate aerosols. Appologies to everyone booked in for braces on or off after Wednesday but unfortunately its out our hands.

05.01.2022 Weve received so many offers of help from the community. While we are grateful for these extraordinary displays of kindness, the most helpful thing you can do ...for us is stay at home. If everyone stays at home, this means fewer people will catch COVID-19. This gives us our best chance of flattening the curve that is, reducing the demand on our services. Flattening the curve also means fewer people will die from the disease, which is what we all want. Some of our doctors and nurses appeared on the ABC last night to tell all Australians to #StayAtHome. Thank you so much for letting us get that message across, 7.30. Here is a video of those doctors and nurses from our Infectious Diseases and Emergency Departments with their simple message for you. #StayHomeSaveLives

04.01.2022 Wishing everyone a happy and safe Easter during these crazy times. Stay well.

04.01.2022 Dear valued patient and parents we have some fantastic NEWS: Following the latest advice from government and health authorities, our practice will be reopening on Tuesday 28th APRIL, much sooner than we had anticipated. A big congratulations to everyone for their stay at home efforts. While there are still some restrictions regarding the types of procedures we can perform, we are able to begin seeing patients again and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to sc...hedule an appointment. We ask that you please bear with us at this time as we do our best to contact patients as quickly as we can. Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us and we will continue to operate with additional precautions in place to best protect you and our staff. We ask that when visiting our practice, please observe the health and safety information displayed and follow the directions of practice staff. Please do not enter if others are in the waiting room. Also if possible bring your own sunglasses for procedures. Aerosols still cannot be generated, therefore debands will not be possibleyet!! If you have any questions or concerns or an urgent need prior to your appointment, please contact us via phone or email. We look forward to seeing you very soon.
