24.01.2022 I'm sure that we all have been touched by breast cancer in someway. A scare or a diagnosis. A friend, a family member, a co-worker or ourselves. The aim of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to shine a light on the devastating impact breast cancer has on thousands of Australians each day. Almost 20,000 Australians will be diagnosed with the disease this year alone. That equates to 55 Australians every day.... And nearly 3000 Australians will lose their lives to breast cancer this year. That’s someone’s mother, sister, friend or family member whose life has been tragically cut short because of the disease. Although the five-year survival rate has increased from 76% to 91% since 1994 thanks to research, there is still progress to be made to stop deaths from breast cancer. By targeting the remaining 9% who don’t live past this survival rate, National Breast Cancer Foundations goal is to reach zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. How did you find embrace and how long have you been here: I use to follow Embrace on Facebook. I have been a member since the beginning of January 2020.... What were you looking for when you first joined Embrace: I wanted a gym with lots of equipment to grow some massive guns. I also wanted a class timetable that would not restrict my ability to train/workout and probably most importantly a supportive and fun culture. How do you describe the atmosphere at Embrace: 100% positive, encouraging, supportive and believe it or not SUPER FUN. I enjoy spending time there . What classes do you do at Embrace: Functional, Strength, Meta Power, Barbell HIIT, Boxing and the odd Yoga and Pilates. What do you think about the Embrace trainers: Knowledgeable, RELATABLE, approachable and encouraging. What is the best thing about Embrace: Kim has created a culture that is just spot on, it really does embrace you, as a woman, as a mother, as a busy individual, as a wife whatever your thing you just fit in no problems. How has Embrace made a difference in your life: I am a fitter, stronger and happier version of myself. I can also finally do push ups.

Remember to check all area's from your collarbone to your arm pits and while all breasts are different and feel different (even our own are different from each other) there are a few things to look out for: a new lump in your breast or underarm... pain in any area of your breast any change in the size or shape of your breast nipple discharge other than breast milk pulling in of your nipple or pain in your nipple area irritation or dimpling of your breast skin thickening or swelling of part of your breast If you have any concerns or questions please see your GP.
