24.01.2022 We are very excited to be nearing our exhibition - 100; a celebration of QLD's oldest residents as part of the Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers. The details are: 17 August - 1 September, 11am - 5pm daily at Seven Hills Hub (28 Tallowwood St, Seven Hills, QLD, 4170). It is free and wheelchair accessible. If you haven't yet put these dates in your diary, please do so, we wouldn't want you to miss out! ... This initiative wouldn't be possible without our major government sponsor - the Queensland Government (Thriving Communities Qld), our major corporate sponsor - Estia Health and the support from Australian Human Rights Commission. This exhibition is the signature event of Queensland Seniors Week We look forward to seeing you at the gallery!

24.01.2022 A huge thank you to all who came down on Sunday afternoon to help us officially launch our QLD exhibition. Such a delight to have so many of you there with us! The room felt full of pride and excitement as centenarians, artists, family members and supporters moved through the exhibition seeing the collection for the first time. It has been such a privilege to get to know our 200 QLD participants over the last months. We have been inspired by the stories, life experiences and attitudes of our centenarians and by the enthusiasm, heart and artistry of our teenagers. We are most grateful to Coralee O'Rourke MP, Kay Patterson - Age Discrimination Commissioner and CEO Ian Thorley from Estia Health for launching our exhibition.

22.01.2022 Whilst Kevin is not (yet!) a centenarian, he is well on his way to becoming one. A number of our centenarian participants started their careers as paperboys, so it seemed fitting to stumble across this..

22.01.2022 Painting, painting, paintings are coming together!

22.01.2022 Don´t be confused by the prominent orange balloon here inscribed ´2´, the ´100´ was hidding behind it! Centenarian Jean was still in celebration mode only days after her birthday, where she reached 102! Festivities included a a limo ride from her Brisbane home to lunch - a new experience for the 102-year-old!

22.01.2022 If you haven´t already seen Old People´s Homes for 4-year-olds on ABC TV + iview, make sure you do. What a moving, instructional and heart-warming programme. Proof that intergenerational care not only feeds your soul but has significant developmental, physical and mental health benefits. Age-segregated care is not the way of the future. It´s time to implement this across the country.

21.01.2022 If you didn´t get to see ABC News on Tuesday night, here´s a snippet of what you missed..

11.01.2022 It is such an honour to include 107-year-old Aunty May in our QLD project. May joined us for the launch of our exhibition last week, making her the oldest participant to ever attend one of our project launches! We are very impressed. May Charles' father migrated from China to Australia, disembarking in Cairns and subsequently moving to Innisfail. Here he met and married Bessie Wong Foo. Together they had four children, their eldest daughter May was born in October of 1911. ...Aunty May will celebrate her 108th birthday in October this year. - See more

08.01.2022 Centenarian Peggy and her artist Hasinah had a good laugh yesterday afternoon after Hasinah told the sad story of spilling a bottle of water over her in-progress portrait of Peggy! She has already started a new version, so not to worry!

03.01.2022 We are delighted to be presenting our exhibition as the signature event of QLD Seniors Week 2019! It is a packed program with fabulous events going on across the state, make sure you don´t miss them..

02.01.2022 The Devil is in the detail...
