24.01.2022 Let’s have a long discussion about sleep it’s that time of year where you’re out at parties, loss of routine, eating poorly, drinking caffeine alcohol maybe smoking it’s hot you come home start up loading photos and talking on your phone about what a great night you’ve had, then you go to bed exhausted ready for sleep ....... but it doesn’t come, you jiggle you rock your feet, toss and turn for hours this was me last Christmas party so my previous video I ...spoke about how I used yoga to get to sleep left nostril breath and count of breath, but there’s soooo much more I could do to prevent sleep deprivation. Avoiding screen time before bed an hour or two so save the photos till the next day. Limit caffeine - go decaf or don’t drink it after lunch if it affects you. Alcohol may help you get to sleep but you’ll wake up Unrefreshed - drink water in-between and rehydrate the next day. Eat earlier, a full belly means your body is working to digest, allow it time to rest. Drinking to much water at night so you’re up all night peeing drink lots in the morning and slow down in the afternoon. Vigorous exercise in the evening can keep you over stimulated- do that in the morning and a calmer practice in the evening. Hot flushed, have a water spray near you to cool down or a wet face cloth or try peppermint oil. Restless legs do some gentle yoga exercises to relax muscles and try pranayama (breathing previously shown in videos). Your room needs to be dark, safe, cool. Set up a routine and stick to it. Exercise during the day to let out excessive energy. Try a calming breathing practice before bed. Pain relief, some yoga practices can help relax tension in muscles. A calming bedtime yoga practice. Remember the bedroom is for sleep and sex so no tv or phones . If you really can’t sleep after 15 mins of trying these things get up and listen to some calming music till you are ready to try again. My heart felt gratitude goes out to them for all they teach me and the acceptance and support they show. Till next year!

17.01.2022 RUOK? Its horrid not feeling ok some things are so overwhelming that we need medical intervention. Sometimes we just feel down and out. Some things that might help when you feel like that are check you are eating well, diet plays an important role in hormones and can affect your emotions. Are you exercising enough and meeting the weekly guidelines, exercise seems to pull me out of most down phases and I cant recommend this enough. Are you getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Do you have a good work/life balance and time for you...... can you take time out just to breathe. Do you have a good support network. What areas are looking a little like they could be improved? Start there! Reach out if you need and if someone reaches out to you know you dont have to fix them you just have to listen #ruok

12.01.2022 10 THINGS TIME HAS TAUGHT ME 1. Most of our life is spent chasing false goals and worshipping false ideals. The day you realise that is the day you really start... to live. 2. You really, truly cannot please all of the people all of the time. Please yourself first and your loved ones second, everyone else is busy pleasing themselves anyway, trust me. 3. Fighting the ageing process is like trying to catch the wind. Go with it, enjoy it. Your body is changing, but it always has been. Dont waste time trying to reverse that, instead change your mindset to see the beauty in the new. 4. Nobody is perfect and nobody is truly happy with their lot. When that sinks in you are free of comparison and free of judgement. Its truly liberating. 5. No one really sees what you do right, everyone sees what you do wrong. When that becomes clear to you, you will start doing things for the right reason and you will start having so much more fun. 6. You will regret the years you spent berating your looks, the sooner you can make peace with the vessel your soul lives in, the better. Your body is amazing and important but it does not define you. 7. Your health is obviously important but stress, fear and worry are far more damaging than any delicious food or drink you may deny yourself. Happiness and peace are the best medicine. 8. Who will remember you and for what, become important factors as you age. Your love and your wisdom will live on far longer than any material thing you can pass down. Tell your stories, they can travel farther than you can imagine. 9. We are not here for long but if you are living against the wind it can feel like a life-sentence. Life should not feel like a chore, it should feel like an adventure. 10. Always, always, drink the good champagne and use the things you keep for best. Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one.
