21.01.2022 Congratulations to Diane Grasso on the completion of her Caswell quilt with hand applique and hand quilting. It's exquisite!

20.01.2022 Welcome to 2020 and New Year's Resolutions to try new stitches, finish UFOs and catch up with stitchery friends. Thank you to those who attended the celebration of the life of our long-term member Margaret Carson, who passed away peacefully last week. We will forever remember Margaret's passion for stitching and travel, with a combination of both if she could. Her penchant for altering any aspect of a project to create her individual, unique pieces was fascinating and insp...iring. It was heart-warming to meet her longtime friend Jenny, along with Bec, and to hear about their true friendship. So, it is with Margaret's legacy of creativity that we begin our 2020 year of sewing with some quirky 3D 'bugs' with a variety of interesting stitches for their wings. Thank you to Alice Gove for her production of different bugs for those who'd like to participate and for teaching woven stitches. What generosity and talent! We look forward to an exciting year.

13.01.2022 MADEC Market Day Saturday October 26 2019 at the Mildura Homestead by the Murray River. Congratulations and Thank you to Suzanne Pocock, Marilyn Courtney, Noeleen Carn, Alice Gove, Ruth Flashman, Joanne Chapple, Lyn Burton (Treasurer) and Kathy Rogerson (Secretary) for setting up a wonderful display of beautiful textiles to showcase a variety of our work. ... With the dusty, windy weather, we set up twice! Once inside, we were more comfortable and able to chat with visitors. (Good call, girls!) We were all delighted to have such interest in stitching and look forward to getting to know 5 lovely people who expressed keenness to find out more. We look forward to sharing sewing ideas over a delicious morning tea. Special mention goes to Suzanne Pocock, who attracted much enthusiasm with her ready-made kits to make a Boro Purse. (First Image) We are excited to join her in a wonderful Saturday morning workshop. We're proud of you Suzanne! :-) Congratulations to Holly Harvie for her enthusiastic organisation of this special community event. She's a treasure!

12.01.2022 Well done to Joanne Chapple for completing 2 vases of flowers and 2 toadstool stands, to Suzanne Pocock for her drawstring bag and quilt, to Kathy Rogerson for her sashiko/rusted bag, to Marilyn Courtney for her cobweb scarf, to Ruth Flashman for her doll and to Lyn Burton for her 2 toiletry bags. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to the following: Ann Duffett for her many embroidered baby blankets with cute animal motifs and her embroidered and embellished Christmas bag. Lucky grandchildren! Joanne Chapple for her Crewel work that she has used to create a striking bag with chain and for one sample of her range of 3D mushrooms that she is in the process of making. Love to see her enthusiasm and originality.... Ruth Flashman for her decorated folder that opens to pages of clear plastic pockets so that sewing notions can be easily seen. Clever, original work. Kath Gibson for her old-world cross stitch and ribbon work that she has framed herself. Versatile skills.

02.01.2022 An EGV visitor, Kate Ballenger, who came to our Mildura Branch last year and attended a workshop with Chris Burton has sent photos that she'd like uploaded to our Facebook page. Kate is currently in Mildura. Kate writes 'I just thought I'd send through some of my embroidery pieces. The first one is a crewel embroidery piece that I took along to Chris Burton's UFO class at Mildura on the Friday. I'm now working on the silk shading project we started that weekend.' Enjoy her lovely work :-)

01.01.2022 Many bugs have been created lately, including this one, which has been decorated by Val McCarthy. Other photos show Judy's felted jacket, Kathy's Crewel tile, Joanne's felted slippers, Betty's pulled-thread runner, Lyn's silk-shaded pansy in white and purple and Kerry's silk-shaded pansy in circular design.
