21.01.2022 Some very special fairies have been busy revamping our garden bed into a magical fairy garden. Thank you to everyone who donated items and a special thanks to Amie McDougall for helping pull it all together. We can’t wait to see the children’s faces when they discover all of the fairies who live at Kindy now

19.01.2022 Thank you to Ian, Steph and the wonderful team at Shamrock Building who not only repaired our garden bed ready for its transformation into a fairy garden, fixed our chicken coop, built us a new safer cover for our water pump, BUT ALSO generously lay 130 square metres of turf to transform our playground back into a grassy wonderland! This is a genuine community based business supporting our local community Kindergarten out of the kindness of their hearts!

12.01.2022 We are very excited to officially announce that we have been successful in our Building Better Communities Grant application. Ken ODowd has confirmed that we will be receiving $1.4 million towards the redevelopment of our Kindy. This is an exciting project for the Kindy and will be completed in partnership and close collaboration with the Central Highlands Regional Council We are calling for Expressions of Interest from community members who are interested in being involved in a sub-committee that will drive this project. Please forward your application, including details of the skills and experience you can bring to this committee to Carrie Jones at [email protected] by close of business, Friday 24th July 2020.

We wish Mrs Kay & her husband Graham all the happiness, health and wealth that she deserves in her retirement years.

03.01.2022 A forest school is opening in Auckland, New Zealand for children aged 5 to 12 years old. How fantastic that outdoor learning and free play is being recognised outside of the early childhood sector in this way.

02.01.2022 Hi to all the 2018 families. We now have your children into groups for next year. We are just waiting on our governing body The Gowrie QLD to send the 2018 enrolment forms and then we can mail out your forms, interview dates and teachers/ classes. Sorry we were told they would be ready early August however they now will not be here until first week of September. Thanks Mrs Kay

02.01.2022 This week the children and staff have worn their pyjamas to Kindy to raise awareness and donations for children in foster care. Today we were able to donate $501, 18 teddy bears and 12 sets of pyjamas to Anglicare Central Queensland. Thank you to everyone for their support and generosity.

Emerald Preschool and Community Kindergarten is looking for a permanent part-time Early Childhood Teacher (with the possibility of a full-time position in the future if the successful applicant would prefer). You will be employed as the EC Teacher for a group of up to 24 children who attend 5 days a fortnight (Wed/Thurs/Fri one week and Thurs/Fri the alternate week). You will be supported by two assistant educators in your day to day rhythms and routines. Your hours of employment will be from 8am to 3:30pm during school terms (that's right...afternoons and school holidays with your own family or to pursue your other interests) BUT you will be paid for the entire 52 weeks of the year. Every alternate Wednesday (your non-teaching Wednesday) you will be employed for a full NON-CONTACT PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING DAY with your support staff!
