05.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS The Emerald Village Newsagency is doing everything in its power to comply with safety regulations in these trying times. The shop has been told we have to stay open to enable you to have access to the latest news. This we will do. We have installed screens on our counters. We use sanitiser regularly. We use gloves to handle money. We encourage you to use your plastic card. We use face masks on deliveries where appropriate.... And we will home deliver if you are socially isolating - as we have been doing every morning for years. Just let us know what you want. Now it is up to you to keep a safe space apart when you visit us. Lets all work together to beat this bastard of a virus. Apparently China has come out the other side, so why cant we - if we do as we are told.

03.01.2022 Did you hear? Were still open for business... As per the Victorian government guidelines, Newsagencies are deemed an essential business which is why weve been asked to remain open for the foreseeable future. We want to assure the people of Emerald that were taking all precautions to ensure the health of our customers and staff. We ask that our customers not come to the shop if theyre unwell OR if theyve travelled instersate during the last week. Customers who have tra...velled overseas have already been ordered to self-quarantine by the government. We also ask that you maintain a safe distance from our staff and fellow customers so as to follow the governments rules regarding social distancing. For our part, we are constantly disinfecting and cleaning our premises. We are also opening our shop doors and windows to aerate the shop and are only allowing a certain amount of customers in at the one time. If we work together we can protect ourselves, our staff and our community. See you all soon and please take care.
