25.01.2022 All set for Wednesday Men’s Competition today. Single stableford over two grades. NTPs on 2nd and 12th. The course is in magnificent condition.., #nswgolf

25.01.2022 Monday Brendon Roods was accompanied by 8 golfers, to take on a massive challenge to play 72holes of golf in 1 day to raise money for the Cancer Council. Unfortunately due to family commitments Robb Tickner was unable to make the day, but he did a tremendous job raising funds. Brendon said I would like to congratulate all the players for the mammoth effort involved, to push through the aches, pains, blisters and cramps to complete the 72 hole challenge Brendon also thanke...d all the caddy’s that came out and braved the weather pushing buggies, driving the carts, fixing divots & really making the players feel like we had turned Pros for the day. Brendon said Having you there defiantly helped with moral support Lastly Brendon expressed his thanks to Ashley and Pauline Roods and David Mayes, for organising breakfast and lunch, Cassandra Clark from #seasaltcafeandrestaurant for sponsoring us with some great healthy snacks and treats for the day. Couple of my stats from Monday 34.68km walked 11 hours 36mins to complete Tee off time was 5.30am 43180 steps Elevation gain 283m 86storeys 4 bunkers 9 lost balls Team Emerald Downs GC which also consisted of Paul Walsh from off the hook was able to raise $10,550.00. (Last minute $500.00 cheque) Which put us inside the top 40 teams for fundraising. Team Pentagon Wealth & (ears & eyes investigations) raised $3,014.00 Team Cookies and Cream played Sunday and raised $1,157.00 With the combined totals of all 3 teams that ranks Emerald Downs GC as 42nd highest fundraising club out of a total of 420 clubs. To wrap everything up a MASSIVE THANKS needs to go out to every single person who kindly donated. I feel that with so many people behind us supporting us with donations that helped encourage and push us all along. So Thankyou for you donations!! 24.01.2022 COURSE CLOSED TILL FURTHER NOTICE *COURSE UPDATE* I went for a walk around the course this afternoon considering the amount of rain and the strong winds we have had the course is in surprisingly good condition with very minimal damage. ... Majority of drains apear to be flowing well some have debris in them but overall very good. A couple of trees and branch’s around the course have surcomed to the strong wind we have endured over the past few days which was to be expected. Dam levels have all dropped dramatically almost back to normal levels which we see when we have heavy rain, which means the water is flowing into lake inness and out through Lake Cathie smoothly. Staff will be out on the course tomorrow to start cleaning up and relieving any drainage blockages which have occurred. Total rain recorded since Friday 6am till Monday 7am has been 543mm Cheers Brendon Roods

23.01.2022 There was a big field for yesterday’s stableford competitions. We welcomed a dozen ladies from Kew Country Club and various other visitors. Men’s ball winners were Peter Mercer, Kevin Attwater, Clayton Harpley, Robb Tickner, Justin Ostler, and Brendan Flowers. NTP winners were Justin Ostler and Clayton Harpley. Div 1 winners Shane Thomson 42, Garry Montgomery 41 and Paul Carter 39. Div 2 Paul O’Brien 39, Joshua Brown 38 and Chas Viner 38. In the ladies ball winners were Abby ...O’Reilly, Trish Berry, Janette Wilson, Faye Ballard and Yvonne Burnett. NTP went to Yvonne Burnett and Jenni Simmons. Div 1 winners Carmel Parry 35, Volli Peacock 34 and Jean Ramsey 34. Div 2 winners Danuta Nowak 37, Robyn Brindle 35 and Bernadette McNamara 31. 04.01.2022 Golf Course Update Our men’s comp is in full swing this morning with the 18Holes back operational. We are very pleased with how the course has dried out. Carts will remain off until Friday but their return could be delayed depending on how much rain we receive today and tomorrow. ... Currently we only have 2 changes to the course conditions as follows. > GUR Right side of 1st Hole (near 150m markers) > GUR Right side of 18th Hole.
