25.01.2022 I'm being interviewed for several segments on a new TV program SNAP HAPPY : the photography show next week. One of the segments I'm planning to share about shooting with a mirrorless (Sony A6000) camera (which I keep in my bag for family photos and background images). I'd love to hear specifically what you'd like me to talk about. What sort of advice would you find helpful? I'm especially keen to hear from those starting out in photography.

24.01.2022 If you missed the announcement on our Story Story Art - Photographic Digital Art page here are the details. I will be running a number of workshops across Australia teaching photographic compositing. Inbox me for more details.

24.01.2022 Please note, Karen will only be taking on limited weddings and portraits exclusively through Story Art from 2016 onwards. Like Story Art - https://www.facebook.com/storyartaustralia/ on Facebook Visit www.storyart.com.au for further information.

22.01.2022 Last night I was chosen as the Epson Signature Worthy Print award recipient for my Story Art - Photographic Digital Art piece, 'Flying High' (Link here: https://500px.com/pho/103044371/flying-high-by-karen-alsop) I was so shocked to receive this award that I was practically speechless at the time (which made for a short speech). But I really want to acknowledge Epson for choosing my image above all the other spectacular photographs in the competition. Having only recently p...urchased my Epson 3880 and printing all my award prints on it I have to say it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Thank you to Kayell Australia for supplying all my paper and ink, especially for last minute shipping when decided on a different paper finish for two of my prints. You guys are fantastic! Thank you to the AIPP for challenging me and supporting me and all the other photographers. What a great organisation! AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) Congratulations to all the other winners! Amazing work!

18.01.2022 On Thursday I was interviewed for a National TV show, SNAP HAPPY : the photography show. Here is a little behind the scenes video. Thanks to C l a r i s s e Photography for the BTS footage and Kira-Marie Makeup Artistry.

18.01.2022 Coming out in the next issue of Provincial Living Magazine, an article about lenses! Look out for the next issue in newsagents near you! Love being a part of this magazine.

18.01.2022 I've discovered, if you want some nice weather, schedule in a photo session in advance, then reschedule the day before because of forecast rain... Then it's sure to be beautiful and sunny at the time you had originally planned to do the session. Thanks Melbourne, your unpredictability is always a guarantee.

17.01.2022 If you have visited this page looking for my photographic art pieces you will find them on my Story Art page. https://www.facebook.com/storyartaustralia Here on Emerald Eye Photography you will find all our wedding and portrait work. Don't forget to like both pages to keep up to date.

16.01.2022 Mentoring a mother and daughter in photography this afternoon. How special that they can share an interest and spend time together this way.

15.01.2022 Although we are keeping this facebook page live for sharing of client photos and videos, we are no longer taking wedding or portrait bookings. Take a read of what we are up to now with Story Art by Karen Alsop and visit our new website.

14.01.2022 Ready for this afternoon's shoot! There may be a bit of traipsing through the muddy paddocks on my part but I'll be keeping the couple on dry ground as they are going to be all decked out in their wedding gear from 6 years ago. They contacted me wanting some beautiful wall prints after being disappointed with their original wedding photos taken at their wedding (not by us). Kira-Marie Makeup Artistry was looking after our bride's make up. Thank you Kira! Photographing at my favourite Autumn location.

13.01.2022 Excited to share Emma's very special Wedding Story Art image - 'The Bride's Story' Read more and view behind the scenes: http://storyart.com.au/the-next-level-of-wedding-photograp/

13.01.2022 Brittany and Mark congratulations on your wedding today. Everything was perfect, even the rain. I couldn't wait to share one of my favourite images from today. What a fairytale!

12.01.2022 Today we were saddened to find out that Karl Munzel passed away last Thursday after a battle with cancer. Last year in June, we were blessed to photograph Karl and Aly's wedding day. At this time Karl was given approximately 6 months to live. Karl beat the odds and this beautiful couple celebrated their one year anniversary this June. We were honoured to capture Karl and Aly's happiest moments, and know that these memories will be treasured by Aly and Karl's family for many y...ears to come. We are saddened knowing that Karl is no longer with us. His commitment and love for Aly and for his family was evident in everything he did and everything he said. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers and love are with Aly, and all the family and friends at this time.

12.01.2022 If you've wondered what has happened to Emerald Eye Photography and why it's so quiet on my page... I invite you to follow me over at Story Art by Karen Alsop

12.01.2022 Lots of planning has gone into this inaugural event for the Pro Photo Mums community. Two years ago I started 'Pro Photo Mums', a facebook group for Professional Photographers that are also mothers. My own work/life juggle initiated the desire to set up a supportive environment for others dealing with similar challenges. The group (for Australians only) has grown to over 700 members. It is a secret group, so if you qualify and want to join inbox me as I'll need to add you di...rect. I'm so excited to be not only putting on this retreat with a group of passionate photographers, but also to share on digital artistry and following your passion. 2 weeks to go! #ppmretreat2015

06.01.2022 We know it's been quiet over here at Emerald Eye Photography... For those that don't know. We have closed Emerald Eye Photography and are now putting our full energies into Story Art. The heART Project has been a big part of this year and I'd love to share this with you and encourage you to like Story Art **Brand new footage and image reveal**... In Episode 3 of Heart of a Lion, Tahliyah and her family experience the adventure of a lifetime at Jamala Wildlife Lodge in the heart of the National Zoo & Aquarium Canberra Tahliyah once again was the star of her very own Story Art piece that told of her adventure with her favourite animals (all photographed at the National Zoo). We were joined by other passionate photographers as they underwent on location training and created their own stunning pieces of Tahliyah, photographed in the incredible Giraffe Treehouse at Jamala. This video shows creation (speed edit) of Tahliyah's brand new 'wild' artwork and how it was created. Adobe Australia and New Zealand shared Tahliyah's story I'm incredibly honoured to be featured. Be sure to follow their page for more updates over coming weeks. http://bit.ly/2fGe2Wz Tahliyah's artwork provides her with a unique keepsake of her Jamala Wildlife Lodge experience in August. An experience I'll never forget. An incredible time with a group of passionate and giving Photographers who gathered together to give Tahliyah and her family the experience of a lifetime.
