18.01.2022 Wow what a day. I am checking all the updates via QLD health. For all upcoming appointments with me this week: Your reminder email will have the latest updates as to what to do. If/when we are told to wear masks when indoors other than your home, you must wear one as you walk into the clinic and not take it off until you’ve left the clinic. ... If you have any doubt, or you don’t want to wear a mask indoors when at our clinic, or having to wear a mask when receiving a massage, just cancel and reschedule to a later date. I do understand and will see you when you’ve rebooked your appointment. I need to keep you, myself and the persons before and after you as safe as we can be, and if that means wearing a mask at work for 3 days until Easter, then I will do so. I will be happy (well, mildly happy but I understand) to reschedule any booked appointments from this week to the next available and suitable time and day. ... 15.01.2022 Each appointment with me starts with every client declaring they do not have COVID19 symptoms. Or the flu. Or a head cold. Or the common cold. Or the sniffles. Or a fever. We need to trust each other, we need to tell the truth. And we have to cancel if we have any symptoms, including yours truly. I will also do this checklist each day. If I feel I have a symptom: I have to cancel that day and that week, do the covid19 test and isolate myself and my son while we wait for the results. Lets not get it that far. 13.01.2022 So today I had a gentleman in who reminded me of something I was taught years ago. So he had an injury and hurt his low back L4/L5 years ago. And now he has been in pain which he assumed was from the injury. But after the initial 30 minute session two days ago, I had my client in again for a longer session today. Watching my client getting up from his chair in our waiting area without too much effort....Awesome. BIG change from two days ago. Main reason for this post: dont c...arry the story of the injury. That what I worked on with my client was muscular and not near the L4/L5. He also was a bit worried Id dig my elbow in without listening and hurt him even more. Thats not what Remedial Massage is about. Not at all. Yes it isnt painless, but not extremely painful. I love my job. What I do, is see my client, listen to them, watch them and work with them. 11.01.2022 Cupping. Just a sample. These are silicone cups. The are softer and not every one gets the darker marks like this. Its basically painless. These are not painful bruises or anything. They will fade away over a number of days to a week or so. Just another way to release the tightness in the body. Part of remedial massage treatments and its optional. Because my clinic hours are now longer due to Covid19; I have to have longer breaks between bookings. Meaning that I am home after 7pm most days. Having to do the laundry almost every day. To be considered a professional massage therapist as per this you need to have all 3. 1. Diploma in remedial massage therapy 2. Member of a massage association ... 3. Private health insurance rebates (recognised with all PH insurers) QLD dept of health page: https://www.health.qld.gov.au//non-essential-business-clos I need to set up a few things, making sure I do everything as per the directions, and not get fined $5000 by the police. I do feel confident in this, because we all have been good and so far no confirmed cases have been in our town of Emerald. UPDATE: Open for business and starting on Tuesday 28th April 2020. 03.01.2022 For anyone with a bath, maybe now is the time to take an Epson salt bath to help with sore muscles, sore feet, sore hands. No bath? How about a foot bath? Or a bucket for your feet, a bowl for your hands. Found this for you to try. (You can skip the dried flowers) This is for about 2 baths. 1 cup epsom salt... 1 cup hymalyan salt 5 -10 drops of essential oils such as lavender oil) Put in jar shake and use for 2 baths. SHORTCUT: You can buy the ready made bags and use one cup each time. Just add your oil, or skip the oil. Read instructions on bag, but usually its about 15 minutes to soak. If youre using essential oils, make sure its 100% pure and of good quality. (Cant find any Epson salt/Himalayan salt or essential oils? Try the chemist) Anneke Souilljee
