25.01.2022 Yet more milling today. The home made mill has really stepped up this week and is producing some beautiful timber. These logs are from trees that were removed from around the Emerald Ag College. It would be hard to even find boards like these any more. 350mm wide 3m long and clear of notes.

20.01.2022 Milling a little timber for future projects. This bandsaw mill was home made by one of the club members. Outstanding cut quality on these sally wattle logs. Club members are asked to come along and lend a hand each afternoon this week from 3pm

19.01.2022 First coat of oil on the first of 4 workbenches the club have been making (for a very long time!!!) - looking slick!

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Dianne O'Brien winning the Emerald Woodworkers Groups 2017 Show raffle. The dining table was built by the group using Lemon Scented Gum they felled and milled themselves and an Ironbark pole recycled from an old stable. Hope Dianne and her family enjoy it for many years to come. The table was so popular that we may be making another one so everyone can have another shot at winning one next year ;-)

19.01.2022 The Emerald Woodworkers group are opening their doors every Tuesday evening from 7.00pm as a trial for the next three months. All welcome to come and join in club activities or bring your own projects for help and guidance from club members. Please note: enclosed footwear is required.

19.01.2022 All meeting at Michaels place (Emerald Downs) at 9am tomorrow (Saturday 29th) to go get a couple of Sally wattles from a place towards Capella. Graeme will be at the clubroom until 9am to redirect any that miss this notice. See you there! PS: We already have enough chainsaws!

16.01.2022 ...and congratulations to V Chapman for winning the Peoples Choice voters prize for the Club Challenge competition. The bowl was turned at the show from a very colourful piece of Camphor Laurel. The competition piece that won the peoples choice award was Ray's 'Turtle step' made from a small natural edged slab of Sally wattle each contestant was given.

14.01.2022 EOI: Kids and Wood. Members of the Emerald Wood Group are investigating an Easter Holiday Parent and Child (8-15 yr) activity. Please indicated interest, preferred day. Approximate costs $20 for materials and use of facilities. Activity will go for approximately 2hrs.

12.01.2022 The Emerald Woodworking Group workshop will be closed on Tuesday night 25th Dec 2018. Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas. The workshop will be open again on Saturday 29th December at 9am.

09.01.2022 The Emerald woodworkers are going to the Lights at Emerald Downs this weekend. We will be helping the little ones make some Christmas Tree Ornaments. Some bring your kids and let them enjoy. The SES will be there cooking sausages for dinner, so come along have your dinner as well and the washing up will be all taken care of.
