22.01.2022 We’re delighted to share some snapshots of the much anticipated revamped Avon Park, which officially opened on Saturday 10 October. The skate park and playground have been embraced by its local community, with a thumbs up from little and big kids alike! Avon Park features a well-equipped skate park with quarter pip, bowls, rails and ramps, alongside a nature-inspired playground boasting a double flying fox, swings, seesaws, colourful timber maze, log steppers and water play. A dry creek bed runs centrally through the space, providing reference to the Avon River. A big thanks to Perth Mum Adventures for some of these pics! #shireofyork #skateskulpture #natureplaywa #perthplaygrounds

22.01.2022 Emerge recently embraced the privilege of undertaking pro bono work for a courtyard upgrade for the Mission Australia DAYS Youth Withdrawal and Respite Centre in East Perth, which officially opened on November 4. DAYS (Drug and Alcohol Youth Service) youth outreach program supports young people aged 12-21 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with free and confidential services around alcohol and other drugs. Following a generous donation from Property Council membersh...ip in April 2019, a design was drafted for the tired looking courtyard and a project team was onboarded - it was time to get our hands dirty! We think the new courtyard looks fantastic and the centre’s staff and clients do too! A big thank you to our project contributors Property Council, LD Total, Rural Stone Company WA, Benara Nurseries and Churchlands Lawn and Garden Maintenance. http://www.emergeassociates.com.au//courtyard-upgrade-for/ #DAYS #community #youth #outdoorspace See more

Over 30% of the site has been dedicated a...s public open space with preserved trees and bushland. We are proud to have assisted the Department of Communities in bringing affordable living with well serviced landscape and public open space amenity to the city’s doorstep. 12.01.2022 Having worked with Green Star frameworks for a number of years and as past members of the Nature Expert Reference Panel, we saw it as a natural progression for Emerge Associates to become a Green Building Council of Australia corporate member. Our philosophy of integrating science and design is aligned with the GBCA’s focus of transforming the built environment. As members of the Green Building Council of Australia, we recognise and support the vision to create healthy, resi...lient and positive places. Through our membership we are supporting the sustainable transformation of Australia's built environment, the improvement of which will play a crucial role in meeting global climate change targets. So what are we doing right now? - We are currently working with a number of clients right across Australia on their Green Star Communities approach as well as with some key infrastructure projects on their alignment with the Green Star Railways framework. This includes two large residential developments in Queensland and Victoria on their intended 6 Star outcomes and a rail project in Perth. - We’ve achieved a 5 Star or Australian Excellence Green Star Communities certification for a large inner urban regeneration project in Perth. - We’ve accomplished a 6 Star or World Leading Green Star Communities certification for Brabham in Perth’s north eastern corridor, a project being delivered by the Department of Communities and Peet Limited. - We are also working closely with a government land development agency on establishing a set of minimum requirements for their portfolio aligning their sustainability philosophy with the Green Star framework. If you’re interested in finding out more about Green Star or how Emerge can help integrate best practice sustainability benchmarks into your project please visit our website and get in touch. #GreenStar #builtenvironment #sustainability #environmentalconsulting http://www.emergeassociates.com.au//03/emerge-joins-the-g/

12.01.2022 The Western Australian government will be introducing its Container Deposit Scheme from October 1 this year. The scheme will allow the community and businesses to return eligible cans and bottles for a 10c refund per item. For premises intending to receive these cans and bottles, it’s worth looking at your approvals to ensure that you have them in place before October 1. Some organisations may be required to update their licence or works approval under Part V of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 in order to be an endorsed Refund Point under the scheme. If you’re unsure about your existing approvals or require them to be updated, contact Ashley Bird from our Environmental Planning and Management Team on (08) 9380 4988. #emergeassociates #environment #sustainability https://www.containersforchange.com.au/wa/
