21.01.2022 Hear from Australia's Dr Christine Eriksen... https://www.uow.edu.au/resea/newsletter/2019/UOW257392.html

15.01.2022 Very interesting, this is not the first time governments have been under fire for not taking appropriate action. China has a law that allows them to go after government officials for failing in their responsibility regarding emergency management and we recently saw children bring suit against governments for climate change. Does Australia hide behind the law to remove its responsibility to protect its citizens. The Federal government has already abdicated its responsibility, ...stating that it's up to individual states and territories. Just because its the law, does not make it right. https://www.zimeye.net//department-of-civil-protection-bl/

10.01.2022 This is very concerning. My question is... will/should Australia take any responsibility for this person being radicalised in here. If not why and what happened that allowed this to occur here and should we take a closer look at the underlying conditions. Saying it is completely this guys fault only allows some people to feel better but it does not help us to prevent or address this in the future. https://www.news.com.au///cb3819bb1536b1043c37c2ceaed4f2f0

07.01.2022 An interesting read, another reason we need broader education in E/DM, it's not just about writing plans, or researching response, or researching "toys" for response. If the community doesn't care, know or act they are useless. Remember that one the key components of E/DM is community engagement and the "prepared community". We must better understand motivations and weaknesses in the systems we develop, if the community doesn't listen, its not their fault, it's "ours" because... its our job to teach and educate them, provide them with information (that they understand and in a manner they connect with). This requires a good understanding of social science. The day of one warning is over, peoples ability to understand and interpret information varies based on many factors, including, level of education and ethnic origin. Do not expect one message to suit every one of your community members... unless you want your program to fail. https://www.ijpr.org//what-makes-people-heed-weather-warni
