16.01.2022 The secret to happiness may depend on how much water you drink Feel Happier. Dehydration can affect your mood and make you feel sad, grumpy and confused. Water stimulates the flow of nutrients and hormones that release those feel-good endorphins you need to feel happy. Drinking more water will satisfy your thirst and health Even mild dehydration affects mood Just being dehydrated between 1 to 1.36% can cause bad mood, increased perception of task difficulty, lower concentrati...on, and headache symptoms. The bottom line: Aim to drink 2.5 litres of water about 8 to 10 glasses each day and you might just stop snapping at others around the office. References 1. 14.01.2022 DON'T DO IT Parents warned to NEVER give your baby water as it can be fatal as heatwave grips UK The smallest amount of water can affect the balance of water in their tiny bodies and specialists say this could prove fatal. Giving a baby under six months old just a sip of water could overload the kidneys, leading to a dangerous condition called hyponatremia. Pharmacist Abbas Kanani told Yahoo UK: Kidneys are also too immature in infants under six months and water can cause ...intoxication as a result of an imbalance in electrolytes such as sodium. This can cause hyponatraemia, which is where too much water has diluted the sodium levels of the body. This can cause complications such as swelling of the brain, seizures and, in extreme cases, death. published in The Sun UK 24 Jun 2020 I have published information about hyponatraemia dangers in sport, JATMS attached, and other papers related to hyponatraemia and MDMA and dance events. Water is great and most of us don't drink enough. However, electrolyte balance is vital particularly in babies and in sport. Cheers Russell See more

05.01.2022 A 15-year-old girl was treated for potentially life-threatening heat exhaustion and revived with the combined and quick efforts of bystanders, paramedics and specialist medical team members today. The girl was leading a triathlon by a good distance and right near the finish line when she lost consciousness and collapsed. CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked to assist and landed near the patient at the athletic centre in Penrith within minutes of taking the call t...his morning. The event’s paramedics and Ambulance teams were quickly by the girl's side to give initial treatment. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and aeromedical team provided additional treatment and decided to transport the girl to hospital in a road vehicle, allowing greater ability to cool and hydrate the patient. The girl was taken to hospital in a stable condition. CareFlight’s doctor was pleased to report the girl was expected to make a full and rapid recovery and thanked all involved for their vital and timely efforts. See more
04.01.2022 Extra fires near our house are out again our RFS is just so good and on to the new fires straight away. We listen to the emergency services radio communication in our area and they are as good as any including our defence force. the RFS people in our area as in all areas are very dedicated and professional people and at times they face an enemy (fire) equivalent to a war zone with a risk of death and injury.... I believe the federal government should issue all those brave men and women who were actively fighting fires for a certain number of days to be determined, be awarded an "active firefighting service medal"
