25.01.2022 Boring Day #71 After taking up a ceramic elective this semester at university, I got to have a load of fun learning how to create and knit seams without the expected needle and thread. Despite the inevitable coronavirus interruptions, I still managed to walk away with a whole assortment of various ceramic pieces I can now fill the house with and use for my early morning cups of tea! Enjoyable, still questionable, but that has never deterred @ro_florence (not even numb limbs and a loss of hearing apparently) from chomping on a chilli. 19.01.2022 Graduate Collection Look #3 Inspired by the Acacia anthochera (commonly known as wattle), this look is a tactile dream. Feels like you are truely moments away from wearing the real deal! Constructed using a fluffy minky-dot fleece, second-hand silk dyed green and some transfer printed organza for the sleeves. To finish the look, some matching bloomers made from op-shop sheets with a sparkling gold screen-print and again, some re-funkied sandals.

18.01.2022 Graduate Collection Look #6 Using my very own illustration originally submitted for the @gormanclothing #collabwithgorman competition, this look is certainly one of my favourites! Initially just a 21st gift to myself, the dress made its way onto runway after I put together a few other bits and pieces that pulled the whole look together. Constructed using a cotton linen digitally printed in Germany, a redyed secondhand silk lining, some bright yellow stockings and an op-shop woven curtain. To finish the look, some re-funkied op-shop heels.

14.01.2022 Boring Day #74 Just a little bit of something back from 2017 to break up my regular content and also provide you with some cool facts! The blue whale is the largest animal that ever lived with their tongues alone, weighing as much as an elephant and their hearts as much as a car. If you even fancy a quick dip, a blue whale’s blood vessels are wide enough for a human to swim through. Blue whale’s are the coolest, period. 14.01.2022 Boring Day #72 Had a bit of fun with this one but if you’re anything like me, when I pick an outfit for the day, I can never decide on just one thing to wear so I end up going wild with layers. That’s why I’ve eased the load for myself and created this skort for a @fashionatecu assignment last year. Of course, inspiration always runs deep with my black banksia print and golden wattle stars adding to the incorporation of real pressed flower windows within the garment. 12.01.2022 Graduate Collection Look #5 Inspired by the Calytrix fraseri, this look is quite literally bursting with fun! It’s got all the peak-a-boo pockets, all the jangly beads and all the colour you’d ever need. Constructed using a linen screen-printed with my banksia seed pods, yellow organza windows, re-dyed secondhand silk for the lining and lots of tiny trinkets including pink-poms, sequins, glass beads, pipe cleaners and resin beads. To finish the look, some spray painted op-shop heels covered in yet again, pom-poms.

08.01.2022 Boring Day #73 I’ve always had a bit of a sweet spot for inverse pattern prints so when I saw Minju Kim incorporate it into her final Next in Fashion collection my brain couldn’t stop boiling with ideas. Created using an op-shop pink sheet and some scrap linen from my own collection, I incorporated my wildflower inspired illustrations in matching inks to add a bit of flare to the fabrics. After some time spent pattern-making the fitted bodice, I got to work constructing this gorgeous jumpsuit and it’s safe to say - I’m very happy with the final product and can’t wait to get to work on some more similar pieces to hopefully one day populate your wardrobes with! 05.01.2022 Boring Day #70 Wattle always make my day is being able to incorporate Western Australian wildflowers into each seam I sew. For this very special dress, another piece in my graduate collection, I was inspired by none other than the wattle. Created using a golden minky dot fleece, some hand-painted organza puff sleeves and finished with a cheeky open back, this piece is just the first of many more flora inspired creations to come so stay tuned!

02.01.2022 Graduate Collection Look #2 Inspired by a Banksia’s seed pod, this look is bundles of fun with twenty-five different pockets to choose from. The hardest part will be remembering which pocket has what! Constructed using a second-hand quilt cover dyed brown, lots of green zips, some screen-printed felt with hand drawn banksia’s and op-shop found satin. To finish the look, cotton spandex with an illustrated transfer print and some re-funkied sandals.

02.01.2022 Boring Day #66 In the words of a saddened @nate_emery99, she treated me well and will be missed when speaking of his dear 1989 Patrol GQ. After surviving a solid 28 years, including a bit of thrashing and bashing in the last few, the transmission died leaving the old girl lifeless. As a tribute to his dear lady, I thought it only fitting to immortalise Patricia in paint and thread for Christmas. 01.01.2022 Boring Day #67 Spain was far from a pain as it inspired some of @jayeeflo’s latest acquisitions. For Christmas, I worked on a new pair of men’s linen shorts and a custom embroidered t-shirt with reflections of the traditional bull fighting practices highlighted in Ernest Hemingway’s, Death in the Afternoon - an enjoyable read that got Jamie ready for some tasty tapas. Creating these designs following a holiday are always a nice way to remember some of the best moments we had ...(like when Jamie tried to throw a dragonfruit out the window - safe to say, it didn’t even make it that far).
