Not only has Skin Juice brought out new packaging for their original Facial in a Jar exfoliating gel, they have also brought out two new flavours! - Plumping Pumpkin : Targets uneven skin tone, dehydration, ageing, redness and congestion.... - Brightening Berry : Targets dehydration, irritation and inflammation. 17.01.2022 Wearing a mask may have become mandatory however, bad skin did not! Here are a few of our key tips to keep your skin nice and happy under that mask of yours: - Apply skincare twice daily - before and after mask application. Your moisturiser will create a nice barrier for your skin. However, don’t be tempted to over cleanse! We don’t want to strip your skin of its natural oils. - If skin becomes sensitised/dry while mask wearing skip overly active ingredients such as retinols ...and leave on salicylic acids to avoid further irritation and stripping to the skin. - Less is more - don’t over complicate your skincare routine trying to fix it! - Avoid wearing heavy makeup underneath you mask - choose a lighter bb or cc cream that will help treat the skin but still provide minimal coverage. Avoid wearing makeup all together if possible. - Opt for a cotton fabric mask - this material will be more breathable and less irritable than masks made out of synthetic material. - If wearing a cotton mask wash mask daily with hypo-allergenic laundry wash to avoid irritation and bacteria buildup inside of the mask. - Take a 15 minute mask break every 4 hours (of course only when safe to do so and after washing your hands). It might seem easier to stock up on skincare during your weekly food shop rather than trying to figure out how to get your products from closed salons. And although using supermarket skincare might seem like the easy thing to do now, in the long run, not so much. Supermarket skincare (cosmetics):... While your cosmetic products may smell delicious and feel nice on the surface it is not really doing anything to treat your skin. 13.01.2022 Zuka Beauty’s 2nd birthday this week has been bitter sweet. We have had the pleasure to meet and treat so many beauties in our gorgeous space over this time. We could not be more grateful for all of you and your dedication to our team. It is in that same breath however, that we will be heading into lockdown 2.0 as of Wednesday night. To make sure that as many of you as possible enter into this isolation with beautiful skin and brows we have extended our trading times both Tue...sday and Wednesday. Spaces are already VERY limited so make sure you hop online to book in ASAP! As for during lockdown, our online store will remain open with postage available and free local delivery! We are ecstatic that we are still able to provide the smallest of stability to our clients. Online zoom consultations will continue to run and are still available through our online booking service. From last isolation we grew so much in the way that we can provide even the smallest of services to our beauties so make sure you keep a close eye on all of our socials. 03.01.2022 Did you know that we can tell when your skin is lacking its essential fatty acids? When our bodies lack essential fatty acids we see an increase in skin irritability and dryness which can open up a can of worms for a number of skin concerns (acne, eczema, dermatitis etc). This can sometimes feel like your skin is dry and flaky and needs a good scrub to get all that excess dead skin off, but please: STAY AWAY FROM OVER EXFOLIATING! This may just cause further irritation.... The thing is: we don’t need less cells, we need more internal hydration! Your skin is dry and flaky because it is missing those gorgeous oils (from essential fatty acids) that stick those cells down and lock everything in.
