24.01.2022 Intimate conversations with the forest folk

24.01.2022 Amongst many other tasks, I spent yesterday pottering around the kitchen creating love potions to infuse into this nighttime dessert. Sweet dreams, blessings upon waking was the remedy, and indeed this morning I am feeling the effects I love what I do, even when I forget it, I’m gently reminded again and again every time I touch, smell, and taste the very essence of the colours, textures and flavours that present themselves to me when I create with food. Within the bust...ling markets, amongst richly fertile food forests, when discovering treasured bounties of wild fruits growing on the roadside...Plant friends gently nudging me back into my heart centre, into the place where my creativity sprouts from. I’m blessed to be utilising the local abundance of these lands, I’m giving thanks to the ceaseless rains, to the shorter days, and to the cooler nights. I’m giving thanks to my strong body, my unwavering intuition, my creative mind. I’m giving thanks to be collaborating with inspiring humans who trust themselves and each other, who support each other to express more and more of their authentic selves, who are patient and who are treading lightly upon unknown paths beside me. I’m inspired, I’m present. Big shifts and changing paradigms. I’m not alone. It’s apparent that all expectations must be outlawed, every time I doubt myself, I’m not alone. Every time I question myself or another, I vow to do so with gentle inquiry. Thank you plant friends and love potions for such a delicious recalibration #plantmedicine #lovepotion #dessert

13.01.2022 Indescribable feelings arising. I’ve got a load of vegetables that need something doing with them. All that makes sense is to make art #inapickle #culiaryarttherapy #fermentation

13.01.2022 Slow food for rainy days. Warm autumn salads with sprouts, sauces, and spiced seeds. Such a pleasure spending this past weekend with @larazilibowitz, @benny_holloway and the gorgeous group who joined us #retreat #seasonaleating #easterpresence

06.01.2022 Shorter days here in the shire, the evenings bringing a welcomed desire to wear wooly socks, to be snuggly and nurtured. Blossoming love abounds around these parts right now. Lovebirds cuddled on the couches, canoodling and giggling. I hear their silent longing for that little something something sweet, that little something something, to perhaps lick from each other’s lips....so, I weave my magic, Warm and sticky banana pudding served with lemon myrtle and blueberry syrup. Hits all the spots...Would be mighty fine with cashew cream have I the inspiration next time #tasteoflove #witching

03.01.2022 What to Remember When Waking by David Whyte In that first hardly noticed moment in which you wake, coming back to this life from the other more secret, moveable and frighteningly honest world... where everything began, there is a small opening into the new day which closes the moment you begin your plans. What you can plan is too small for you to live. What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough for the vitality hidden in your sleep. To be human is to become visible while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others. To remember the other world in this world is to live in your true inheritance. You are not a troubled guest on this earth, you are not an accident amidst other accidents you were invited from another and greater night than the one from which you have just emerged. Now, looking through the slanting light of the morning window toward the mountain presence of everything that can be what urgency calls you to your one love? What shape waits in the seed of you to grow and spread its branches against a future sky? Is it waiting in the fertile sea? In the trees beyond the house? In the life you can imagine for yourself? In the open and lovely white page on the writing desk? David Whyte See more

02.01.2022 Sprouted mung bean bread for the masses. Soaked way too much mung so decided to whip it into a few loaves for lunch. I blended up the very sprouted beans with a little water, garden herbs on hand (fresh rosemary, thyme and fennel), salt and a teaspoon of baking powder until it resembled a textured porridge. Poured the mix into oiled loaf tins and baked them for about 45 minutes, or until spongy and golden brown. So versatile and easy peas. Was a delicious successful experiment that pleased many bellies, even the little ones #sprouts #bread #trusttheprocess #culinaryarttherapy

02.01.2022 Black sesame tahini cookies, dipped in golden turmeric and rose mylk, served for afternoon tea on a drizzly afternoon last week. When I’m catering for retreats, I rely on my intuitive guidance to nourish the participants whom I’m cooking for. I cook by tuning in to the energy of the produce, the land and the group. Each individual in the group has some essence to consider when I’m creating the meals. I trust myself and my internal compass, I trust the process of creation #immersion #wombwisdom #trusttheprocess #cookieandmilkmedicine

01.01.2022 Everything has a story, everything has a place. The food we eat becomes our essence. Feasts are made, devoured and remembered, living inside us, nourishing us and connecting us. With joy I create, with gratitude I feed #retreatcatering #wholefood #feast
