25.01.2022 16 Days in WA to Stop Violence Against Women We’ve launched the Path to Safety: Western Australia’s strategy to reduce family and domestic violence 2020-2030, a long-term vision for a Western Australia where all people live free from family and domestic violence. It sets out a clear whole-of-government and community plan for reducing and responding to family and domestic violence over the next decade.... This is part of a comprehensive packages of reforms and initiatives delivered by the State Government to increase the safety of woman and children.

24.01.2022 I have been working with Edgewater locals to ensure that any changes to the quarry park are supported by those that live locally. The concept of ‘home’ doesn’t just mean the house that we live in. It’s the community that makes a home. This suburb is our residents’ backyard. Edgewater locals are telling me they are appalled at the lack of meaningful engagement with the broader community prior to the City of Joondalup arriving at a draft preferred concept plan for the Edgewater Quarry Park.

22.01.2022 Who knows who this beaut belongs to? Trust that, with a name like that, they caught a bite or two! Stay safe on the roads and along the coast.

22.01.2022 We had a fun last doorknock for 2020 by the Joondalup team today! It's so great to see new faces volunteering each and every ! We had some awesome conversations in Edgewater and whilst we take a short break, we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. ... The team and I will see you in 2021!

21.01.2022 The Wadjuk Gift is an annual event held by Mater Dei College, Edgewater, WA that aims to educate students about meaningful cultural knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations. Over 350 year 5 students from six local primary schools are spending the day at the College, each school in a t-shirt that represents their chosen Aboriginal nation. Here with students from Edgewater Primary School and other schools including Liwara Catholic Primary School (my old school), St Anthony's School, St Luke's Catholic Primary School, Woodvale, Whitford Catholic Primary School, St John Paul II Catholic Primary School.

18.01.2022 Taking a moment in my day to visit Yellagonga Regional Park is something I about living and working in Joondalup. Send in your best photos of Joondalup for my 2020 Christmas Card Competition to [email protected]. This amazing photo of Lake Joondalup was taken by Di Champ Sky.

18.01.2022 An important update from our Premier Mark McGowan Our response to the COVID-19 pandemic has always been first and foremost about protecting the health and safety of Western Australians. We’ve followed the expert health advice, and for the last seven months, our hard border has kept Western Australia safe and strong....Continue reading

16.01.2022 Are you willing and able to donate blood? Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is calling for 0-negative blood donors this Easter. Only nine percent of Australians have 0-negative blood. Despite recent appeals, stocks have continued to decline.... Stocks of 0+, A+ and A- are also low. To book a donation, visit lifeblood.com.au, download the free Donate Blood app or call 13 14 95.

15.01.2022 Electricity credit applications close March 31 On 4 October 2020, the McGowan Government announced that all residential customers will receive a $600 credit towards their electricity account. 15.01.2022 So proud! This morning was our first caucus with this amazing team! I'm so proud to be part of the McGowan Labor Government. I look forward to working with you to continue delivering for Joondalup.

15.01.2022 We've been in a position to come together and enjoy something close to a "normal" Christmas, thanks to the McGowan Government's leadership and, more importantly, the combined effort of all Western Australians. 2020 has been a challenging, exhausting and surreal year, but we've almost made it through. Thank you for all you've done in Joondalup to help keep our community safe and strong. I hope you get to relax with those closest to you - we've all well and truly earned it.

15.01.2022 We’re boosting policing resources over the Easter long weekend, as part of a high-visibility road traffic blitz. Police patrols will target speeding, mobile phone use and dangerous driving offences. Double demerit points are also in effect until midnight Monday April 5.... I wish everyone in Joondalup a safe and happy Easter break.

15.01.2022 Merry Christmas from my family to yours. Here's to a happier and healthier 2021 here in Joondalup and across Australia. Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas, restful holidays and happy new year!

14.01.2022 The Ocean Reef Marina is exactly the sort of State Government project we need right now to keep WA’s economy strong. Excited to be chatting on a webinar about the progress on the project in a tick with DevelopmentWA.

14.01.2022 WA is leading the nation in its economic recovery and it’s no small part due to the hard work of our local small businesses. For the last year I've been giving our local small businesses shout-outs. This year has been hard for many of our local small businesses so I encourage you to continue to support local businesses in the best way you can, particularly on WA Small Business Day today.

14.01.2022 As a mum, I know the vital role that teachers play for our kids. We have seen the very best in our teachers this year. They’ve done an outstanding job. This World Teachers’ Day, I’d like to extend a big thank you to the teachers across Joondalup. I appreciate and acknowledge the challenges you’ve faced in 2020 and sincerely thank you for all that you do for our kids and community.

13.01.2022 Sunday small business shout-out to Wisteria's Edge. Grabbed a cuppa and a smoothie for Mya after wobble boarding the other week and spotted this beautiful display of Christmas celebrations.

13.01.2022 Starting the day with a coffee at the new Alcove cafe at Joondalup Resort my local business Sunday shout-out! Will be back here later this evening for an event with our Premier!

12.01.2022 With nurses in my family, raising two kids, and hearing many stories from locals over the years, I know how important the major upgrades to Joondalup Health Campus are to Joondalup and northern suburb locals. Upgrades the McGowan Labor Government are delivering include a new Mental Health building, new ED, inpatient and Critical Care beds, a new operating theatre, cardiac catheter laboratory, additional parking and more. This morning I viewed new detailed designs that have just been released with Minister for Health and Mental Health, Roger Cook MLA and parliamentary colleagues Sabine Winton MLA and Mark Folkard MLA. I’ve added artist impressions of the upgrades below. Have a look!

12.01.2022 Get behind a great local club! Help raise funds for Kinross Netball Club by attending this fundraiser dinner! Link to the event is below :)

12.01.2022 I'm overjoyed that our northern suburbs has given resounding support for a strong team of Labor women in our northern suburbs, electing Caitlin Collins - Labor for Hillarys and re-electing Jessica Stojkovski MLA.

10.01.2022 Proud to be part of Mark McGowan’s team, delivering for Joondalup. The Premier and Cabinet Ministers have been busy in Joondalup, holding the last community cabinet before the election next year. Yesterday, I MCd our town hall meeting, where we heard directly from local residents and community groups. Thank you to everyone who attended, sharing your passion for the future of Joondalup and the northern suburbs.

10.01.2022 Popped into the Ocean Reef Senior High School P&C meeting tonight. Great to be able to chat to Chris, Tony, Tanya and the team about the McGowan Government investment at the school including the new $5million Performing Arts Centre that's opened and the Sports Hall that's on its way. Lots of excitement about the Ocean Reef Marina too! Be sure to come along and check out the upcoming Open Day! For more info sign up for my e-newsletter via [email protected]

09.01.2022 In Heathridge today I knocked on Natalie’s door to tell her about the Ocean Reef Marina Open Day on November 22. Natalie works at a local primary school and it turns out it’s her birthday today! Happy Birthday Natalie! In another good story for the day, I assisted Natalie’s son Jordan three years ago with special consideration for an education matter. It helped him so much that he graduated and he’s now graduating uni after three years of study. Congrats Jordan!

09.01.2022 It was my pleasure to officially open the 2020/21 Joondalup Little Athletics season today. Over 200 families and 300 athletes are part of this great family sporting club that has been around since 1992. Here are some on the mini athletes (U6&7s) that participated in the walk past this morning.... Thankyou to all of the mum's, dad's and care givers that volunteer each week to ensure the smooth running of all events. And well done to Centre Captain's Chelsea and Luke who are showing great leadership for the younger kids.

08.01.2022 Got my walking shoes on today! Talking to locals about the $600 electricity credit that started to hit accounts on the 1st Nov. For those of you that weren't home, I've left you a flyer - feel free to get in touch.

08.01.2022 A very big congrats to the graduates of Belridge Secondary College. There was clapping and cheering all through their graduation evening, and rightly so. The strength, determination and resilience of the Class of 2020 is to be commended! Special shout out to Nicholas Hart of whom I had the pleasure of presenting the Education Support Centre 2020 Caltex All Rounder Awards to last night. Belridge Secondary College is a great school that has recently benefitted from investment ...by the McGowan Labor Government in a $5 million Performing Arts Centre that is being constructed. This local high school is also set to have a Schools Virtual Power Plant site that will reduce the cost of power for the school and give students hands on learning with renewable energy. Raising two kids, I know that investment in our local school is going a long way to equip our kids with the skills they need for the jobs of the future. Congratulations to you all!

07.01.2022 And.... that's a wrap for the Joondalup Lakers Basketball Club season! Today the club are celebrating with a family fun day and Heathridge Park. It was my pleasure to support the club with a donation for their raffle and to say a few words of thanks to all of the volunteers and committee members who dedicate their time to support our kids in sport.... Congratulations to the players who were awarded medals for 100 and 200 games! Shout out to Perth Pop Up Parties for donating a photo booth and party prize and Grill'd Joondalup for supporting the club too!

07.01.2022 Merry Christmas Joondalup! If you would like to wish our Premier a Merry Christmas, click the link below and sign the virtual Christmas Card!

04.01.2022 Happy Easter Joondalup! It’s egg-stremely easy to recycle your Easter egg wrappers! Just make sure to scrunch up the clean wrappers into a golf ball sized ball and pop them in your recycling bin.

02.01.2022 One in three homes now have rooftop solar. Today in Joondalup with Minister for Energy Bill Johnston MLA the first house we knocked on (to share news about the $600 WA Household Electricity Credit) had solar. Had to get a quick selfie pic! Importantly, the $600 one-off WA Household Electricity Credit will be applied to eligible customers’ accounts as an offset on and from 1 November 2020, allowing more families to have a bit of extra money available in the lead up to Christmas. Providing relief and support to local households in Joondalup is an important element of our jobs and recovery plan, to keep WA strong.

02.01.2022 It’s rewarding to have brought together such a strong group of women for one of the Northern Suburbs Community Cabinet events with Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Child Protection; Women’s Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence; Community Services. Particularly heartening to host this Joondalup Women’s Leaders event in the lead up to WA’s 16 Days in WA to Stop Violence Against Women that begins tomorrow.

01.01.2022 Mark McGowan and I have delivered our election commitment with works well and truly started on the Ocean Reef Marina. If you're been along Ocean Reef Road recently you must have spotted what's happening! I dropped by over the weekend to see where works are at for myself and I couldn't be happier to see the progress we are making!

01.01.2022 Last stop for the day - Mater Dei College P&F! Melissa and this fantastic group of volunteers are working hard for the local school community! With two kids at the school, I know that the time invested here is working wonders for our leaders of tomorrow!
