24.01.2022 If you're like me and have had the most stressful year of your life last year, you might be feeling a bit heavier, more tired, more anxious and overall BLAH. Let's face it COVID has been hectic. We have all had to learn to juggle with our hands tied behind our backs; home-schooling, working from home, navigating financial losses and even deaths of family members. Last year SUCKED. I am seeing a lot of people in my practice right now who are burnt out, anxious, tired, depress...ed or *just* keeping their head above water. SO this year's cleanse is a little different, more aligned with what I know my people need. Rest, relaxation and to pull back on all the indulgences that have kept us afloat this year. For this reason, this year The Cleanse doesn't include any fasting. Fasting is amazing when your body is ZINGING and in perfect health, BUT when you have adrenal fatigue and on the edge of burn out, it can actually work against you. Without the juice fast, we are able to substantially reduce the cost and open it up to anyone who needs a reset of their diet and some connection and support. The Cleanse 2.0 is a nurturing supportive reset, which will nourish your mind, body and soul - all whilst connecting with other like-minded people via the cleanse community Facebook group. The Cleanse is all about being kinder and gentler with yourself. The program will guide you through 21-days of wholefood eating, designed to fast track your health journey and provide you with all the tools you need to revolutionise your diet and as a result, your overall health. What do I need to give up? Wheat Sugar Alcohol Caffeine Recreational drugs Cigarettes The Cleanse will help you to sharpen your intuition and choose what your body really needs. This is WAY MORE POWERFUL because we are all powerful beyond belief. Hit my website for more information! x

24.01.2022 Hello there I’m Emily, naturopath, mama, heavily flawed human and lover of community. In my practice, I work hard to marry what my gut is telling me that you need, with the hard evidence of test results to make a strategic plan to move you forward from surviving to thriving. It’s a journey, an unfolding, peeling back the layers of your health to move towards the root cause. The average patient sees me 4-6 times with the ultimate goal that you are then equipped to manage you...r own magic and refer to the treatment plans to get yourself back on track when needed. Everyone deserves to feel energised, sleep well and have a bowel movement that makes you zing. All women deserve to be honouring their cycle not bed-ridden due to PMS. If you’re not feeling like your best self, I see you, and I would love to help you re-engage with life and yourself in a different way. I have a special interest for: ~ for fertility support ~ pregnancy care ~ post-natal support ~ burnt out mamas ~ and everything women’s hormones If you need some magic... I’m here. Consultations can be booked via the link in my bio. All consultations are now conducted online. I can’t wait to meet you via zoom! Thanks for following us here. My assistant @misskaaaate and I work hard to add value and to post content that makes you feel better about yourself - not worse. If there is anything you would like to see more of, drop me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you. E x
24.01.2022 Stress Away - This little baby has revolutionised my motherhood journey! My gorgeous 4-year-old has decided that he’s not keen on eating food, getting dressed or generally doing anything that I ask him to do... This morning I said we could no longer do the fun things we had planned if he didn’t have his listening ears on. As a result, we had to cancel swimming. The crying lasted for 1 hour and 45 minutes (while I acknowledged his feelings and held his hand) and whilst we w...ere both equally disappointed, I needed to hold the line for the future. After he settled down we decided to make some slime together, our connection was rekindled and we are back on track for a fun day. One of my (and my husband’s) weaknesses is that we find it incredibly hard to hold a boundary, especially when our kids seem to have way more endurance than us. It's SO HARD. I LOVE this oil because it shifts my attention back to my emotional state and supports me through these epic expressions. I call it my little circuit breaker in a bottle. How do you endure the long expressions of emotion, I'm keen to hear!? E x

23.01.2022 Given the current situation with the second wave of Coronavirus cases on the rise, I felt that it was a good time to re-release the Wednesday Wisdom in Isolation talks. 21.01.2022 Everyone can benefit from the naturopathic cleansing diet. When you increase your intake of healthy foods, you won’t have space for the foods that produce an effect on the body (e.g: caffeine, sugar, alcohol, yeast) in the long run. 21 days is the perfect amount of time for the cells of the gut lining, nervous system and hormone structures to regenerate and become renewed. Cleansing will help with a multitude of complaints including: ... digestive issues inflammation pain allergies hormone imbalance bloating healthy weight loss By loading up on liver-loving vegetables, such as beetroot, leafy greens and our cruciferous friends like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower; you will support your body through the detoxification process during The Cleanse. As a practitioner, I'm kind of obsessed with finding simple steps to effect the greatest change. When I see a patient succeed at making sustainable changes in their lives, it's because they have been able to do so with minimal effort, alignment with their goals and a willingness to make changes. Could this be you? Find out more about The Cleanse here https://www.emilyroseyates.com/shop/the-cleanse-ebook Photo by FOODISM360 on Unsplash #emilyroseyates #thecleanse #21daycleanse
21.01.2022 The Truth about the Pill The Pill is effective and allows women to be sexually active without worrying that they will fall pregnant. But what I have a problem with is the way its sold to women as safe (by well-meaning GPs) and as the only answer to their menstrual issues such as PMS, painful periods, breast tenderness and fatigue. ... All those symptoms are due to hormonal imbalances, things that can be fixed or modulated through diet and lifestyle changes, herbal medicines and exercise. Get in touch if you would like to get to the root cause and fix your hormonal imbalance naturally. 21.01.2022 Today I'm talking about Kinesiology. Over the years I've established a great team of practitioners that complement my naturopathic approach. One of those masters is Roz Hawkins from Thriving Room. http://www.thrivingroom.com.au/ Roz and I work very closely on mutual patients. Naturopathically I support the biochemistry, nutrition and physical body and Roz is some kind of *amazing* with her energy work, kinesiology and insane psychic abilities. ... Roz shares with us: "Seeing the whole person - Kinesiology offers a truly holistic approach to healing as it goes beyond just assessing a select body part or system and, instead, considers the whole person. It addresses not only whats going on in the physical body, but also takes into account your environment, as well as your psychological state." Roz is offering a 20% discount during August to any of my patients who might need some energetic alignment, during this washing-machine-called-life that we are experiencing during the Covid pandemic. I have been seeing Roz myself, and she also treats my children, so I trust her implicitly. Simply mention my name when booking your appointment. Do it for yourself, you won't regret it, she's phenomenal.
21.01.2022 Its not stress that kills us, its our reaction to it - HANS SELYE I am seeing many patients struggling as a result of long-term or unmanaged stress, particularly at the moment during these unprecedented times aka the pandemic that is Covid-19. ... Stress can be beneficial to the survival of our species when you think of the fight-or-flight response that is required when youre being chased by a lion. However, it can become problematic if your body continues to be exposed to high levels of stress for long periods of time. In particular, the body is not going to be able to rest, digest or reproduce in a dangerous/stressful environment. The body can sustain and heal quite easily after a short period of stress however, the effects start to play out on the body when you are experiencing long-term stress (more than 3 months). The long-term activation of the stress response system and the overexposure to cortisol and other stress hormones can disrupt almost all of your body's processes. 20.01.2022 In a society that really values hard work, no rest, pushing harder and striving for your goals we can often forget about ourselves. I find selfcare brings me back to myself. I have a list of things that I draw upon when Im feeling stressed such as... Morning ritual (cup of tea, journaling, meditation) Walk Breathwork Rest practice... Essential oils Epsom salts bath Warm chamomile tea Bulletproof hot chocolate (recipe on my blog) Supplements Meditation Warm foot bath Add whatever YOU LOVE, whatever fills your cup! Keep this list where you can see it, so you can remind yourself of the importance of taking care of yourself. Artwork by Morgan Harper Nichols
19.01.2022 Forest bathing originated in Germany, known as "Waldtherapie" and is being touted "The New Yoga". Connecting to nature is not a new concept however, we are constantly finding ourselves connected to our devices more than we are getting outside into nature (hello Covid-19). So if you're stuck at your desk WFH, or in lockdown (stay strong Melbourne!) the next best thing to that forest-bathing-vibe is diffusing this refreshing and uplifting combo. Idaho Blue Spruce will leave yo...u feeling grounded, relaxed and peaceful. Pine is an invigorating and calming aroma, when diffused with Blue Idaho Spruce it emanates feelings of being immersed in nature. Did you know, Idaho Blue Spruce measures at 580 MHz, a high-frequency essential oil. The human body has a frequency between 62-78 MHz depending on the food you eat, the environment and even your thoughts. For more information about Young Living and their incredible therapeutic grade essential oils, please check out my website https://www.emilyroseyates.com/essential-oils
19.01.2022 Cocktail (mocktail) hour at my place looks a bit like this. I pour myself a NingXia Red and if I close my eyes for a minute, it feels like I'm on holiday drinking a cocktail by the pool... almost! NingXia Red contains wolfberry puree, one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet! It is FULL of antioxidants - off the charts actually. So what, I hear you say? What are antioxidants anyway? Well, they are powerful nutrients that dramatically affect the way we AGE (go...t your attention?!) and the way we DETOX and antioxidants aid the buffering of inflammation in our bodies. I don't know any person who couldn't use this powerful product for all of the above reasons! I also love to add a drop of Young Living Lime or Grapefruit essential oil for an extra zing. NingXia is also available in a sachet so I freeze them, then it goes into the kid's lunchboxes for a nutrient bomb treat. It's nice and sweet so can also be made into ice blocks or we make our own gummies to curb those sweet cravings. A masterpiece! CHEERS! If you are interested in finding out more about NingXia Red or Young Living Essential Oils, check out the link in my bio for more information. See more
18.01.2022 SARA - the *self-love* oil. She's a beauty. This blend is rocking my world! Great for emotional support during difficult times - I've been using Sara and another one of my favourites, Joy together lately. It's helping me feel the feels instead of going in on myself. It's uplifting but chill - it balances me out. If I could, I would rename this the self-love oil. ... This amazing blend contains ylang-ylang, geranium, jasmine, rose, lavender, orange, cedarwood, chamomile, spearmint, lemon, tangerine - to name a few. It has really been making a difference for me, so I just wanted to share it with you all if you're needing some emotional and vibrational support. Lots of love, E x
18.01.2022 A lovely testimonial from one of my previous cleansers! "The cleanse is amazing! 21 days of wholefood, low inflammatory eating, so much information on nutrition, detoxing, how to rid the chemicals in our life. Best of all, Emily helps you transition back into normal life with really sustainable positive changes." - Francoise. https://www.emilyroseyates.com/thecleanse/... #emilyroseyatesnaturopath #thecleanse #naturopathicdiet
18.01.2022 Well thats a school holiday wrap. Luna park @lunaparksydney, @featherdalewildlifepark, our faves @sadlersteph, visits to nanny, slow mornings, me repeating myself 10,000 times for everyone to eat their meal, get dressed, put their shoes on, I’m surprised I have a voice, so much repetition! 6 million snacks, so much tidying up and endless monopoly, chess, uno, dance partys, poo bingo , handball, football, soccer, swimming, Jenga, painting, so much slime and baking. ... I am juggling 1 million things at the moment my three high energy boys, a naturopathic business, a dying mother and so much else, too much to list. I was dreading these school holidays, but I’m a big believer in ‘you get what you need’ not ‘what you want’ and didn’t realize how much I needed these three monkeys to keep me focused present and distracted from the pain I’m feeling in relation to mum. I don’t believe in distracting from the feelings but these three have provided me with so much in the last few weeks, loads of compassion, laughs, comfort when I was crying and reminded me of what life is all about. Nature, sun, movement and connection. I will genuinely miss you all tomorrow when your back to pre school and school. What wonderbugs you are! I’m so proud. Miss you already. #connection #motherofboys #sun #sand #presence #children #healers #love #schoolholidayfun @telljames

We often race through the day from one thing to another, but instead let us set an intention for ourselves to stop and just be. In this practice, we drop into our physical body, allowing ourselves to be held by whatever it is we are leaning or resting on and welcome a deep sense of self compassion, love and effortless calm. https://insighttimer.com//relax-and-recharge-meditation-fo

16.01.2022 LIBIDO LETS TALK ABOUT SEX BABY! Libido is often something we dont talk about enough, but having a healthy sex life plays a key part in: - enhancing immunity - reducing stress levels... - regulating anxiety - improves intimacy and trust in relationships - regulates melatonin, which is responsible for our sleep-wake cycles Good libido is based on the release of certain hormones in the body. For women, this is oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone and for men, this is primarily testosterone. Factors such as stress, the oral contraceptive pill, irregular blood sugar levels and hormonal imbalances are key players in your libido. Good hormonal health is key in a healthy libido, there are also key nutrients that are the precursors to the production of these hormones, such as B6, omega 3,6,9s, zinc and magnesium. Herbal medicines are incredible at modulating your hormone production and bringing about a healthy sex drive. For more information on how to spice up your love life, check out Juliet Allen, Sexologist. Shes phenomenal and gives good practical advice @juliet_allen. If you are having issues with your libido reach out for a consultation so we can appropriately address the underlying health issues. Artist @minzo.king via @juliet_allen

16.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day, so I'm reaching out to my tribe to check-in and see if you are ok? It has been such an intense year for so many of us (I see you Victorians) and many of us are dealing with increased levels of stress. These are my top tips for managing mental health in these times... ~ be kind to yourself, cut corners if need be, preserve your energy where possible, get healthy home meals delivered, care less about the state of the house, miss bath time with the kids if i...t's too stressful. Find the part of the day where you struggle the most and pop something in for yourself. Personally, I find the afternoons hard, so I make myself a bulletproof hot chocolate and savour every mouthful to refuel before the afternoon of chaos with my monkeys! ~ see a therapist (I think EVERYONE should see a therapist) I have gained so much from my therapy sessions and I wouldn't be coping without the tools I have learned from therapy ~ talk to someone, a friend, a colleague, be honest about how you are feeling, it can really help to just get it off your chest ~ prioritise rest ~ ensure good sleep hygiene, no screens 1hr before bed, be in bed by 9pm, take extra rest during the day, yin yoga, a rest practice or a meditation ~ take your supplements and do the best you can with a clean diet ~ decide on the things that are important to you and let the rest go. I recently read the book by Mark Manson 'the subtle art of not giving a f*ck' - it was brilliant. It's not about not caring about anything, it's about choosing the things you are going to give a f*ck about. We can be bombarded by media and all the wrong-doings in the world, it's overwhelming. Our nervous systems can't handle it all, so just choose the one thing and care about it, donate, done. Most importantly if you feel as if you are NOT OK, reach out to me, reach out to a family member or friend and take the opportunity to download, take action and get help. If you're coping well and feeling fine, perhaps you could reach out to someone and see how they are doing, listen, encourage action, check-in. A conversation could change a life. ruok.org.au/findhelp Lifeline - 13 11 14 Beyond Blue - 1300 22 4636

14.01.2022 If you are preparing to conceive, recently pregnant or if you have a new baby - this post if for you! I am extremely passionate about supporting women during this transformative phase into Motherhood. My Pregnancy Program is designed to support your journey to ensure appropriate care alongside your obstetrician/midwife/shared antenatal care. This is an important time when the mother's health should be monitored closely as your body is producing vital nutrients and mine...rals for both you and your developing baby. Naturopathic care and supplementation can have significant impacts on the body both pre-conception, during pregnancy and after the baby arrives. During pregnancy, your body is the primary source of nutrients and as a result, many mamas will be left depleted. There are increasing amounts of research into the way that various nutrient levels impact the health outcomes for mother and baby, in utero, during the birth, in the first 12 months and beyond. Key nutrient deficiencies will also impact your predisposition to postnatal depression and anxiety, so we want to boost those levels as much as possible during the pregnancy. 07.01.2022 Many people are interested to find out what my nutrition philosophy is which is fair enough if they are looking for guidance. But when it comes to what nutrition, I like to keep it pure and simple and that means; FREEDOM - freedom around food and everything that goes into our body. What? No strict low-carb, paleo, wholefood, low sugar, no sugar, fasting or air/water diets NO!... Growing up I was a dancer, which brought about an acute awareness of my body and how it looked and as a result, brought about all sorts of unhealthy relationships with food (restrictions, control, bingeing, the whole gamut). It was miserable, and food was so deeply intertwined with my self-worth and desperate need to be seen. That aside, I have worked hard towards FREEING MYSELF FROM FOOD. 05.01.2022 Optimal nutrition for Mums and Bubs (but really this applies to everyone!) My philosophy on nutrition is pure and simple. It is all about eating real food that is naturally occurring. Basically, a diet that is loaded with fresh fruit and vegetables and high-quality protein. Everything in moderation. I want to talk about a few common nutritional myths and breakdown the facts for those of you that are hearing mixed messages or unsure what to believe. *To read the full blog, cl...ick the link below. MYTH: Fat should be reduced in the diet to maintain weight, healthy heart function and low cholesterol. FACT: 1. Where you find low-fat products there is an increase in sugar content, which is immediately turned into fat and stored in the body. 2. Fat is fundamental for nervous system function, correct hormone balance, for babies it enhances IQ, concentration and focus and enhances immunity and reduces inflammation in the body. 3. GOOD FAT Vs BAD FAT. The right types of fats are therapeutic and fundamental to many biochemical pathways within the body. Examples of GOOD FATS e.g: Omega 3 and Omega 6 found in avocados, fish, nuts & seeds, tahini. Examples of BAD FATS e.g: Trans fatty acids found in processed lollies, chocolate bars, cookies, supermarket cakes, etc. They have no health benefits whatsoever and have been proven to cause free radical damage in the body. SATURATED FAT found in animal products, butter, coconut oil, dairy products I always recommend that animal fats should be organic and chemical-free. Animals and humans store toxins in the fat of the body therefore if you are eating non-organic then you are consuming fats, chemicals and toxins that have been given to the animal. 03.01.2022 My first born baby. I’m insanely reminiscent at the moment, our little family is moving from the trenches of nappies and sleepless nights to three beings emerging into the world with their own gifts and talents. There’s something massive about being a Mum for 10 years, every year you emerge different again when your babies move through different stages. This guy has always been wise, a deep feeler and an articulate communicator, a deep love for animals and the state of the ...planet. Loads of detailed information pours out of his mouth around cars, surf conditions and football players. He likes to master the world by information. He’s gone from the kid who screamed for an hour over a microscopic cut on his knee to begging me to play contact sport and help him train for the cross country. It’s amazing watching him emerge more and more into himself and it really reminds me to stay open and free to who I think he is. It also reminds me to stay open and free to who I am, and same for his brothers. Where are you closed into who you are? Where could you free out of your story or trap you have set yourself to emerge further into who you are? Share below, I would love to hear what’s coming up for you around freeing yourself! #freedom #emerging #nothingsthesame #littlepeoplebigdreams #sonnybear

03.01.2022 For some time, I have been promising you The Cleanse program. After 2020 we all need it more than anything. So I'm thrilled to announce she's here! In my practice, I am hearing that people are feeling burnt out, under the weather, stressed out of their mind, anxious beyond belief and barely sleeping. If you resonate with any of these feelings, then The Cleanse is for you. In alignment with this, I have created a new and improved, gentler program, encouraging self-care..., detoxing and a naturopathically approved diet. The re-launched program is a 21-day cleanse that empowers you to adopt a wholefood diet, detox your system, load up on self-care and most importantly, connect with a community of like-minded people on a similar journey. There is no fasting, just a focus on adopting simple changes to your diet and lifestyle in a sustainable way. Stay tuned for more information coming soon! See more

02.01.2022 Chocolate cake with coconut matcha cream - OMG drooling This incredible creation by @365cleaneats would be the perfect celebration cake and it looks too good to eat! I'd love to say I whipped up this beauty, but I did not. I was inspired to share with you all given the number of birthdays happening in our family at the moment. ... Did you know, matcha is super high in antioxidants, it supports the liver, boosts brain function and unlike coffee, it releases the caffeine over a steady period so you don't get that massive jittery hit.
